I was just thinking about this. Does anyone have tattoos?I have two. One on my right innerwrist. It's the Japanese symbol for "enchanting/bewitching/charming". It's about and inch and a half high and purple with a black outline. The other one is at the small of my back and is about 4 or 5 inches high. It's a black ankh made up of intertwining vines. I'm thinking about getting another one when I have the time. Maybe a moon or a small tribal symbol. But I have to figure out WHERE I want to put it ------------------ ich bin reisender. ich bin freund, beobachter, bote und, wie gesagt, manchmal auch schutzengel. es ist die neugierde, die mich treibt und jene seltsame fähigkeit, die es mir ermöglicht, welten zu besuchen, die ihr nur mit hilfe eurer träume betreten könnt. Hi Amber, I have a Rose on my calf.It is one of those optical illusion kind. The stem looks like it is sewn thru my skin. It is kind of big, it starts right below my knee and winds down to my inner ancle. Just below that I have the Japanese sign for Mystery, strange, unique... IP: Logged |

If I ever get enough money to have one done I'd like to have a nine-pointed star done. My other thoughts are the symbol for my Chinese sign (Monkey) and the wave symbol for Aquarius.IP: Logged |

I think I would be afraid to get a tatoo. But really I never thought much about it. I don't mind seeing them on other people. IP: Logged |

I have a Celtic knot on the small of my back. It hurt to get and I have no plans to get another one. I'm a pain wimp! It's purple and a little over an inch around. It's not a very complicated knot.IP: Logged |

Sunny Day, that's exactly how I feel! They're too permanent for me. I'd be bored of them in a week, and THEN what a hassle!! Hmm, but they are interesting on other people. By the way, did I say 'WELCOME!!!'? IP: Logged |

Yes, very heavily I might add - I manage a tattoo shop, and so I'm blessed to be able to have all my work done for free.....The practice is deeply spititual for me - as I feel an unmarked body is inarticulate, mute.....However when decorated it aquires 'marks of civilitation' than it really begins to comunicate....In my veiw one can't be creative and conformist at the same time.....You have to destroy accepted values.....BlezzingS Sher bear IP: Logged |

My tatto is of a horse rearing up with clouds and stars behind it. It's a brown horse with red eyes and above it it says Isabel.(My wife's name) The tatto took 4 hours to finish and is a 5 color job. Here's the story behind it: I went to a tatto parlor when I was in the military. I wanted to get a plain black rearing unicorn tattoo, no color (for financial reasons mainly) and the guy was willing to oblige. Unfortunately, he didn't have any unicorns that looked tough enough...they were all My Pretty Pony types and I wasn't having it. So I asked him if he could draw a horn onto a horse tattoo illustration. He did, and it looked GREAT. So I sat down to get my first tattoo and the guy started. He had done most of the horse when he got to the horn. Just as he was drawing the first line of the horn, my skin welted up or something, it was weird..it swelled. The needle got thrown off and I ended up with this scimitar curve where a straight horn should've been. The guy apologized profusely and promised to try to make it right somehow(even though it wasn't exactly his fault). What was supposed to be a half hour tattoo ended up taking much longer, he covered the horn mistake with something that looks like a cyclone. Then he filled the storm scene in with some clouds, stars..and started to color it. The guy was pretty amazing, because it came out looking 3D by the time he was done. I was really pleased with the job he did, even though it wasn't the unicorn I had been wanting. All of my friends were impressed with the tat and so being 18 at the time, I was happy too. (Ain't it all about the friends at that age?) 2 years later, I met my wife. On a whim, we both got tattoos. Mine was simple her name over the top of my current tat. Heres was a little mouse shrugging its shoulders on her shoulder blade. It has my name on the top, hers on the bottom. There is my very long tattoo story. Thanks for listening, haven't told it but once before. IP: Logged |

I have an Apache warshield with feathers around it on the inside of my right ankle. Inside of the shield is a Thunderbird, the mystic creature that brings eternal happiness and strength. In American Indian astrology I am of the Thunderbird clan: sign: Elk or Owl (depending on the literature / tribe). I got the tatoo after I graduated from college. I had designed it when I was 16, but wanted to wait until the right time and place. It is symbolic of my ancestors and I chose the Thunderbird before even knowing that I fell under it's clan. ------------------ "Loyalty to petrified opinion never yet broke a chain or freed a human soul in this world--and never will." Maybe someone can help me. I have an idea for a tattoo I want on the small of my back. I want the planets up top in a row with my corresponding signs beneath them. I would have my signs similar to the ones above under Linda Goodman.com but am unsure how to have the planets represented. I would prefer to have them in pic form. Does anyone have any simple planet characters/stencils like the ones above?? IP: Logged |

Listen to this tattoo.... I've got two lines of a clarinet solo that I did wraped the top of my leg.... Wish I could show you a picture of it.... I have a permanent garter belt of music around my leg... My parents said that it was a sin to do this to myself... What do you think of that? I love my tattoo and will never regret getting it but my parents were so angry....IP: Logged |
