I cant believe you met Duran Duran!! What were they like? Ive listened to their music since I was about 6 years old. I cant believe you met them. Im green with envy. Although I must admit I loke Depeche Mode a little better.

hehehehe! Yeah I love Duran Duran! Well, I've never met Andy or Roger but now that the band's reformed ya never know! Simon's a moody artist-type but totally a lot of fun if you know how to read his body language. That's so awesome! Do you know Amber that on many photo's with Nick you seem to hold your faces or your smiles the same way? I mean they blend together quite nicely. And even your noses look similar. I thought that was hysterical!
Great, great, great. I used to love Duran Duran when I was 14 ('84) a lot. I had them on my walkman (huge things back then) very very loud every single day. Even in class I used to wear them (musically wise  )on my head when a friend of mine, who was sitting next to me was listening to David Bowie. Oh no I am confused I was listening to Howard Jones. I have met the Stranglers back in ...uuuhm...when was it...'89! This was a major happening. I have been doing an interview for some kind of paper with the bassplayer (my favourite) and met up with two others as well. Later on we played one game of table football and of course I lost. This band is still my number one although I don't listen to them that often anymore. It sure was special. I used this trick with one other band you won't know the name of I am sure. I had an interview with them as well and we went to a bar in Amsterdam. So cool to achieve what you want! Just call them and say you want to have an inerview with them. CHEESE!! . Hi Mercy!I don't think I've heard of the Stranglers. Do they have a song I might be familiar with? It's funny you notice that about the pictures of me and Nick we're making the same faces. Other people have commented on that, too. I'm always surprised when I get the photos back and notice he's making the same face I am. It's VERY CUTE! He's my favorite.
*I like Howard Jones, too! Never met him, though!*

DURANIES!! I LOVE IT!!Joga, Mercury, you need to check out these 2 sites...you can find out what happened to your fav band of the 80's! And what they are cooking up now! I post on the message board on dd.com under BernadetteLove and on TTP as Bernsie1 or Bernadette..usually though, Bernsie1, that login enables me to post on ALL ezboards, whereas Bernadette I can only login under that name on TTP..

Amber,You don't know the Stranglers??? I believe they are still playing now (except the main singer, he left years ago), most of them are in their 50's now. They started back in the Punk period in the UK in the 70's. But they were not really accepted as a Punk band because they had a beautiful Hammond organ and they were much older in that time than the other bands and therefor fell out of the 'group'. Well...who wants the usual? Not me. .
Anyway hits of them are: No more heroes, Something better change, No mercy, Always the sun. But obviously they were not that well known in the States. And Howard Jones...well he must be one of the sweetest persons in the world. I have met him one time after a concert (I was 14 and I remember looking absolutely terrible at that time ) and he signed my jacket and kissed me (accidently) on my mouth, for which my dad went ballistic because my dad just came picking us up and witnessed me with this strange looking creature. And this creature was kissing his daughter. Well, how would my dad understand these things? Howard is great live on stage. He was changing clothes 3 times and looking stunningly shiny! Sweeeeeet!

Mercy ~ that's a great story with Howard! LOL! It would be great to have a picture of your father's face. I'll look up the Stranglers online and see if I can find something to listen to. They sound interesting.Andy Taylor is back with Duran Duran. The original five members reunited last year and the new album is done and scheduled for release early 2003. How incredibly great Amber. I saw Andy on the pic above that site Bernsie mentioned but I thought it was just 'something' you know..didn't think really. But that's so wonderful after all these years. I'd like to check out the new album. You know I have not been interested in them anymore lately but I do like them that's not it. It's just that I haven't bought any cd's/albums of them after Seven & the ragged tiger. I do still like the old Duran Duran best (just like the Stranglers don't buy anything of them anymore either).
Anyway, that's such fun to hear Andy's back with them. Such a sweeti face he is!Oh an btw, you wouldn't want to be near my dad at the time he caught me kissing Howi. He would sure bite you! IP: Logged |

OH MY GODDESS AMBER I have another CONFESSION!!!!!!! Remember that "muse" I would pretend to be from XANADU? I would at times pretend I was DURAN DURAN'S muse!!!!!!!!!!!  Mom says she still remembers my room being wallpapered with The Fab Five's faces - EVEN ON THE CEILING (no kidding)! You should have seen me when I found out the original members were getting back together! I was a kid again!!!!!!!!!!! Screaming and yelling! You know... I have a huge rubbermaid container full of their pics, bios, books and music. Don't know why I kept it all these years... or do I? I think what I love the most is Simon's writing. Yeah baby, yeah!Talking about D2 here at this site... who would have ever guessed!!!
