U2's about all I listen to... some other light rock, but U2's the only one that has a sense of freedom and poetry in the music (well, in my opinion anyway)Classical - Tchaikovsky. Dramatic stuff! IP: Logged |

Awesome!(please excuse me if i'm a little loopy; been reading about the balkans all day) Very 80s of you, Amber What's your fave David Bowie album (can you say "album" anymore? must it be "cd"?) And what's the name of that Van Morrison/Chieftans collaboration? Und Rammstein? Gut, gut. WMA - Ah, yeas, U2. I can't say I blame you. Interesting line of thought that got started: I wonder how predominant elements in one's chart line up partiality towards classical composers... I, fer one, get lost in Beethoven, although some of Rachmaninov's stuff knocks me for a loop, too (sp. his 3rd Piano Concerto). But I guess I lean towards the former b/c he's such a nice bridge between the measured intellectualism of Mozart and the rampant (though not unappreciated/unappreciateable) Romanticism of that which followed. I'm a Pisces w/ heavy Aquarian influences, btw. If I were to generalize, I'd guess Ms. Von Schriek to be more air ('n' maybe earth?), and WMA more water (or maybe fire, too...I don't know how to gauge that one; I mean, it sort of makes sense b/c of the wild flights of fire fancy). HM...would ya'll say that Romanticism would be more of a water or a fire thing? The first would be the emotional depth/torment/ecstacy/whatever (baroque?), the latter, as said b/f, more wild flights. i think one would have to have heard this song to know the sensuality in it. here is one of my favorite songs:Artist: Inxs Song: Not Enough Time And I was lost for words In your arms Attempting to make sense Of my aching heart If I could just be Everything and everyone to you This life would just be so easy Not enough time for all That I want for you Not enough time for every kiss And every touch and all the nights I wanna be inside you We will make time stop For the two of us Make time stop And listen for our sighs Not enough time for all That I want for you Not enough time for every kiss And every touch and all the nights I wanna be inside you In our fight against the end Making love we are immortal We are the last two left on earth And I was lost for words In your arms Attempting to make sense of My aching heart If I could just be everything And everyone to you Not enough time for all That I want for you Not enough time for every kiss Not enough time for all my love Not enough time for every touch Not enough time for all That I want for you Not enough time for every kiss And every touch and all the nights I wanna be inside you

Well I love EVERYTHING that Amber does(didn't realize there still WERE any Duran Duran fans left)I also run the gamut from Megadeth to Willy Nelson, Brutal Juice to Patsy Cline. I have every Zeppelin and Megadeth album and most of the B-52s as well. I love my 70's P-Funk, my Ska, Reggae, Hip Hop and Rap, my Beethoven, Mozart, Shostakovich and Bach. Bluegrass (love that banjo), Doo-Wop, Blues and Beach Boys. I couldn't get through the day without Fine Young Cannibals or Sublime. Gimme Bootsy Collins when I'm feelin funky or Simon and Garfunkel when I need a good story. I dunno, I guess I'm the GOAT of the audiophile world, I'll listen to just about anything with two exceptions: I can't stand elevator music ("That was MY BEAUTIFUL BALLOON as performed by the Fairfield Singers") or MOST Country Western music(There are a few who really get me choked up though.) I am a child of the 80's...rather a teen of the 80's...so..my favorites are mostly 80's...Duran being one of them...they are how I met Amber Although...my heart does belong to Bryan Ferry of Roxy Music..ask anyone..haha... Currently though, I love Josh Groban...I also love Alanis Morrisette..remember her on "You Can't Do That On Television" ? Also, Celine Dion...Jose Padilla..well..I'm extremely eclectic...I can go from Josh Groban to Def Leppard in a millisecond. Although there aren't too many country singers I like...mainly Brooks and Dunn and The Dixie Chicks...and as far as bluegrass is concerned..Ricky Skaggs..I do love Enya as well...OH! Tori Amos!!! Little Earthquakes my fav album.. um...also...Don Ho..I'll Remember You...and Karen Carpenter...oh my gosh..her voice ..it's like silk... OHOH!! And I guess I should list my alltime fav, as I do have EVERY album that he made..John Denver...yes, every album... IP: Logged |

If I was stranded on a desert island and could only have one CD, it would be Check Your Head by the Beastie Boys. I've been saying that since they dropped it back in 1992.IP: Logged |
