Look, I like poetry and believe in self-expression, but could individual people not post like 30 poems a day, please? I try to read the other posts, and they end up getting lost among the 5 million poems, which would typically be cool, but are sort of annoying me. Not trying to offend, but simply speaking my Aries-rising mind. Thanks. ------------------ -K "Most people love with restraint As if they were someday to hate We hated gently, carefully As if we were someday to love"-Venus Trines at Midnight IP: Logged |

I guess I started this... but then, I've recently tried to keep the poems in one thread. So if others could do the same, I guess it would be neater. Is it OK then?IP: Logged |

Everyone's poems are great; I haven't been commenting (there's so many; one can only say, "Wow...that moved me," even if it'd be meant every single time so many times b/f it starts to sound mechanical), but I've been reading and liking. But (and there's always a 'but', isn't there?) a hapless browser skips across this forum and it's like *BAM*, *POEMS* writ large. Please, don't quit posting them - several from all sources are quite extraordinary; just condense 'em down to a thread or two or three each author (perhaps themed threads: poems in the general realm of such and such, or on the general subject of so and so).IP: Logged |

Well said, Proxieme. That's what I meant, but your words were clearer. And I do enjoy the poetry, don't think I don't. It's good to think that we are all so capable of putting phrase together in a such pleasing combinations. ------------------ -K "Most people love with restraint As if they were someday to hate We hated gently, carefully As if we were someday to love"-Venus Trines at Midnight IP: Logged |

Maybe the poets could get Randall to start a creative writings forum? I've noticed that there are quite a few poets floating around and it might work out really well ..IP: Logged |

Great idea, Foxxy! I'd love it if we had a place that was strictly writing, and it would increase our forum number to 15, which is more favorable than 14, the number of change. ------------------ -K "Most people love with restraint As if they were someday to hate We hated gently, carefully As if we were someday to love"-Venus Trines at Midnight IP: Logged |

I get the funny feeling that I'm the main culprit here.I wrote a message when I first started, asking which format was preferred. I posted several in one thread, one per thread..etc. etc. But no reply on which was the generally accepted format. I think I just got my answer. What should I do? I write 3-5 poems, songs or stories a day and sometimes they don't belong together. Sigh. I've got it! I'll take each poem and break it into three separate pieces, with a "to be continued" at the bottom of each piece!! Message recieved...loud and clear. 8) Daf IP: Logged |

P.S. If you must know...I noticed somebody hitting the big 10K on their posts and I got Post Count envy. I'm just overcompensating for a feeling of inadequacy. (Only 9937 to go...YAAAY!) IP: Logged |

Try this daframen...create one thread called simply Daframen's Musings, or Dafra-Musings, or something that names it as your stuff, basically. Then you can add anything there, your musings, ramblings, poetry, scholarship, anything at all. That's just a suggestion, yet the soundest way to approach it.BB, Carlo IP: Logged |

Actually, I kinda liked the Creative Writing Corner suggestion better. Can you IMAGINE how long it would take to load my Dafremen's Musings thread after about a month? IP: Logged |

Strings load quickly no matter how many Posts they have, because we break them down into pages. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you."
