Like you must have obviously noticed , I am Brazilian and "carioca".
Carioca it is how we call all the people that were born in Rio. Men and women.
I decided to put some pictures of my city and of my country for those that doesn't know. In my Country there are a lot of social injustice , therefore I could put ugly pictures, of poverty and violence, but this is not my intention. I would like you to see the beautiful side of the place where I was born and live ! That pond is in the middle of my city. "Lagoa Rodrigo of Freitas."
 This is the Christ with the open arms on Rio.

These are the "Cariocas" at Ipanema Beach.
 "Carnaval",it's celebrated in February.
 This is where I live, "Barra da Tijuca".

This is "Buzios", where I go for weekends and when I can, I spend part of my vacations.
It's about 90 minutes from Rio.

And this is the night club where I go in the weekends to dance and to drink dry martinis, wine.... it's called "Nuth Lounge " and it is in my neighborhood, Barra da Tijuca.

Brazil looks very beautiful. Have you ever attended Carnival? I heard its wilder than our Mardi Gras in Nawlins.------------------

We commemorated carnival for 4 days. It begins on a Saturday and goes until Tuesday .There are balls in the clubs, where people goes with luxurious fantasies, there are the carnival in the street, where each one uses the fantasy that they want and the "samba schools" that makes a true show . The picture that I posted is from the parades of the samba schools. In reality they don't teach samba,but for some mysterious reason they are called like this.
Maybe the carnival is considered wild because people drink too much...love too much...you know...
I just love to go to the 'dance' of a samba school.
These dances are on Saturdays and they begin in January. So, in January , all Saturdays you can find me in a place full of music ...full of samba ! I attended two years.

When is the next Carnival? I think that would be way more fun to go to that for a Lindaland event than Atlanta, GA. I mean Cripple Creek would be my first choice, yet I think it's better explored by oneself. Carnival would be my first choice for a place to meet and all party! What better place, and you know the whole area! I went with my Argentinian friend Natalio last night to see a movie, and he is from near the Brazil border, and he says that Rio is the best place in the world to party and hang out, and I believe him, he is from there and wants to move back.So Jakie, can we all come there for a party sometime? Probably the next carnival will be in February. I don't have the exact date, but it is easy to know.
