Hello EveryOne!

What things do you do to help yourself relax? What calms you down?

I would love your input, so I can put them on a list . . .

Great topic!

If I'm really stressed, I need physical exercise. A long, brisk walk will usually take care of it. I find the stress and the energy I exert walking tend to balance each other out.

For mild stress, there's nothing like a warm herbal bath with candles.

I drive out to the mountains, or, barring that, take a walk in the woods.
I did just that for an hour and a half yesterday - it was grand. I was chilled but warm, and I stood in the middle of the trees and birds and felt the heavy mist on my face.

I go take a bath with lavender bath salts, light a scented candle, turn out the lights, and relax to Enya or Cocteau Twins.

Or sometimes getting into a really good debate with a few people about something'll help me unwind.

Juniperb that is so cute your llamas relax you.

Here is what I do:
I take a hot shower and then I turn it very cold (makes the hair shiny, feels good)
then I put lotion on and aloe on my face and feel soft and clean. Then I go in the living room for privacy and lay out my Mexican blanket, turn on the fan for white noise and read a good cookbook or healthbook or fiction. With a hot cup of kava kava, I am relaxed

Another thing that relaxes me is runner's high and listening to Robert Miles.
But the run is not relaxing

Cayenne pepper relaxes me alot. Gives me sort of an endorphin rush, I drink that after working out.

...strolling home from work.
...listening to Enya, or soft instrumental music, nature music, even classical works.
...lighting a candle and just reflecting on my day.
...getting up before the rest of the household for a 1/2 hour of quiet time.
...writing in my journals
...listening to the kids tell me how their day went.
...talking to my dog (I'm sure she understands me!)
...fragrance oils wafting through the house
...chatting with my sisters.
...reading channelled books.
...conversations with my hubby in bed.
Gee, I'm very relaxed, just thinking all this stuff up!
