Just a thought about the email troubles.

Most of the time search engines like google cache sites like this and whatevers in everyones profile gets picked up by that.

This is how i think all these nasssty emails are appearing.

Now my idea is based around a board upgrade (Yabb, PhPbb, Vbb?) and you can make emails visible to members only. That could solve our problems and give us a few other cool features.

N_wEvil,

I am not certain about the email problems I have been having, they all are originating in the UK!!! I traced them back to there, and everytime this person uses my Linda Goodman addy, it returns to me and it came from the UK. And everyone has a zip file attached which makes me think it is a virus attached. I even get emails from Greg and Randall like that and I know they are not sending them. Greg also got one from me like that which I didn't send. He traced it to the UK!!

I feel fairly certain I know who it is. Greg did explain to me about some sort of "gray" software that one can use to do this with and that individual may have been doing just that. This person uses Hotmail, Yahoo, MSN and AOL, it is all the same person because a few times they used the same name they have used in their numerous attempts to get into the forums.

Yesterday, AOL locked my account due to this person and the email they are sending in my name. I wrote them a lengthy reply explaining the UK connection and they unlocked my account and I hope they are checking it out. I haven't received any feedback from them yet. Two of the emails they continously send out are "Outdoors" and Happy Epiphany.

Please, anyone here, do not open any emails from me, because I don't send any out. If I do, I use my real address and not my LG site one. All the emails sent in my name are not from me, they are laden with porno or viruses. They all usually have attached files, do not open them, please!!!

get a hold of his/her/its ISP, and get them disconnected - thats what i'd do.

If AOL are on the case they might actually do something about it..i dont think there are any laws over here stopping people from doing this kind of thing though so im not sure if anyone could take it further.

Mass mailer bots can be used...but they can be traced pretty easy - most of the numbskull script kiddies that use that stuff usually forget to take out the mime headers in the email

Well...since I live in the UK i'll see if I can help if you want me to do anything about it.

I just deleted 19 messages that I supposedly sent out that were returned to me as undeliverable. They all had the virus W32.Klex.H@MM attached. Someone is using AOL proxy. Now I am not sure what this means, but this is a place that one of them originated from logs-tk.proxy.aol.com [152.163.206.132]

I deleted all the ones that said UK last month, now I wish I still had them, just to get those numbers.

How do you get ahold of an isp? I don't know much about those kind of things. Usually AOL will have the word "details" as a link in the return address of the sender. That is where I find they originated in the UK.

I do appreciate any help, thanks!!

this might work - if his ISP is AOL (which it looks like it is) they should be able to whizz up the individuals phone number from their connection logs and land them in deep poo - well, at least charge them a hefty amount for bandwidth and/or cut their connection as per their T&C agreement.
