I'm sorry to report that Auriel's Uncle Donald passed away this morning at home.

It was a blessing he checked out of the hospital and passed peacefully in his own home.

I'm really sorry Auriel, you and your family have had some hard blows over the last 2 years. Peace and Love to you.

Auriel will be gone for the next week or so and unavailable to answer questions.

Love

I'm sorry to hear this -

but it shows the love here when everyone pulls together.

I wondered why I lit a candle this morning...now I suppose I know.

Love and light to Auriel

I am sorry to hear this also. My grandma just died last night as well. May they both rest in peace and know how loved they were.

I'm sorry for the pain this is causing you and your family, Auriel.
Your Uncle's passed, but I'm sure that you know that he's in the best place imaginable again.

Thanks for the support everyone.

I'm going to leave tomorrow morning, as I originally planned, to spend some time with my family. The funeral is Monday. I will probably be home Monday night, since the girls have school Tuesday, and I'll want to get away from all the gloom and doom. Geez, why do funerals have to be so morbid?? I find it a really depressing way to let someone go. When my maternal grandfather passed away, we had a Celebration of Life instead of a regular funeral. It was the most awesome way to let go and say good bye to someone. Our tears were of joy and sometimes laughter from remembering moments with him. I'll never forget it.

Angels Among Us
by Alabama

spoken:
I was walkin'home from school
on a cold winter day,
took a short cut through the woods
and I lost my way.
It was gettin' late, and I was scared and alone.
Then a kind old man took my hand, and led me home.
sung: mama couldn't see him,
but he was standing there,
and I knew in my heart
he was the answer to my prayer.

Chorus:
Oh, I believe there are Angels Among Us,
sent down to us from somewhere up above.
They come to you and me in our darkest hours
to show us how to live
to teach us how to give
to guide us with a light of love.

Verse 2
When life held troubled times
and had me down on my knees
there's always been someone
to come along and comfort me
a kind word from a stranger
to lend a helping hand
a phone call from a friend
just to say I understand
Now ain't it kind of funny
at the dark end of the road
someone light the way with just a single ray of hope.

Oh, I believe there are Angels Among Us,
sent down to us from somewhere up above.
They come to you and me in our darkest hours
to show us how to live
to teach us how to give
to guide us with a light of love.

Bridge:
They wear so many faces,
show up in the strangest places
and grace us with their mercies in our time of need.

Oh, I believe there are Angels Among Us,
sent down to us from somewhere up above.
They come to you and me in our darkest hours
to show us how to live
to teach us how to give
to guide us with a light of love.

to guide us with a light of love......

Holes In The Floor Of Heaven
by Steve Wariner

One day shy of eight years old
When grandma passed away,
I was a brokenhearted little boy
Blowing out that birthday cake.
How I cried when the sky let go
With a cold and lonesome rain.
Mamma smile, said "Don't be sad, child.
Grandma's watching you today."

'Cause there's holes in the floor of heaven
And her tears are pouring down.
That's how you know she's watching,
Wishing she could be here now.
And sometimes if you're lonely
Just remember she can see;
There's holes in the floor of heaven and she's
Watching over you and me.

Seasons come and seasons go;
Nothing stays the same.
I grew up, fell in love,
Met a girl who took my name.
Year by year we made a life in this sleepy little town.
I thought we'd grow old together.
Lord, I sure do miss her now

But there's holes in the floor of heaven
And her tears are pouring down.
That's how I know she's watching,
Wishing she could be here now.
And sometimes when I'm lonely
I remember she can see.
There's holes in the floor of heaven and she's
Watching over you and me.

Well, my little girl is twenty-three,
I walk her down the aisle.
It's a shame her mom can't be here now
To see her lovely smile.
they throw the rice, I catch her eye
As the rain starts coming down.
she takes my hand, says "Daddy don't be sad
'Cause I know Mamma's watching now."
And there's holes in the floor of heaven,
And her tears are pouring down,
That's how you know she's watching,
Wishing she could be here now.
And sometimes when you're lonely
Just remember she can see.
There's holes in the floor of heaven and she's
Watching over you and me.

I somehow missed seeing this thread.

I'm so very sorry to hear about your uncle's death. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and yes I agree with what you say about celebrating his life
