Randall...

For those if us technologically un-enlightened (or at least semi-challenged), what does it mean (in English please) to have our own server?

I'm not sure I'm aware of all that implies.

Thanks and Blessed Be...

No space limitations and faster, more efficient loading. Previously, we had shared a server with other Web sites, making it less efficient for all.

Well, I dont know if its a servcer problem or an aries patience problem but I posted a lexigram I did under 'lexigrams' for Sunmeadow Glades (well, I've posted 3 messages now) and they arent coming up and I needed to check something I wrote.

The numbers of posts keep going up (15 now) but I cant see any of my posts!

Can somebody, anybody have a lil' look for me??

Love in advance, mwah

Sometimes they won't appear immediately. It's due to your cache. Reloading the page will usually help.

Randall

Just wanted to let you know that I posted a long message in the LOL thread (bringing my LOL out of the closet) and kept getting the "Internal Server Error" or whatever it's called. I tried at least 5 times and finally wound up breaking it into two parts; then it went through. Please forgive the dumb question as I'm unenlightened re servers etc., but could it be because my computer only has Windows 95? I ask because I recently learned the reason I can't get Java anymore is that Microsoft stopped supporting it in Windows 95 when the latest version came out. Time to get a new computer.

I read in another thread that having the new server would mean being able to post long messages...and since I do have a tendency to run off at the mouth - - or should I say keyboard? - - (I am Gemini, after all). I thought, "Great! I can ramble as much as I want without worrying about the length of my post". Then again...maybe "someone's" trying to tell me something?! Just wondering.

It's more likely related to your ISP. AOL and MSN have problems with posting on bulletin boards in general. Earthlink is better at it (but not always). So is Netzero. Before I got high speed access, I would log in to use my Netzero account if I had a long Post. The new server does help.

Okay, thanks for the info. I guess it is my ISP. There IS some improvement with the new server.

Randall,
I have a quick question...What happened to the search option?? I would LOVE to see if anyone has posted any info pertaining to the Saturn/Seven cycle, but I cannot seem to find the search engine!!
Thanks!

Randall,

Another question:

I like yours and others' quotes I read in various posts - - how can I do this too? Is it part of the signature and if so, must I re-register to change my signature? AND if I re-register can I keep my user name? (Okay, three/four questions, lol) Thanks from a tech-impaired inquirer.
