I've decided to just photocopy and snail mail them. I'm sorry for the long delay. I was hoping to get them scanned. Anywho, in a couple days, I'll let everyone know the details. I need to find the cheapest price for photocopies. And postage is a little over three bucks. I'll post my mailing address, and everyone who wants a copy can send me a large 9" by 12" self-addressed envelope with the appropriate postage on it and a money order for copying costs. Be patient as I will have a few hundred of these to put together and mail. I'll have more details ASAP.

The problem is in knowing the rate from the US to wherever. I suppose I could give the total weight and let you all ask your local post office.

Randall,

I think you have to ask at your post office how much the postage is from America, we can't do that here, we just know how much the postage is TO America.
It would be easiest if we could all just list our countries here and you can take the list to the post office and ask for each one. So that you don't have to go there every other day.

Here's mine: Slovenia (Europe)

About the money order: do you think it's safe to send you cash (in the self-addressed envelope inside another envelope, let's say)? The other way could be Western Union. What do you think?

yes, western union could be the go. I was thinking if we got a list of people in Australia who wanted star notes. Or maybe that's too complicated but it sure would save you some time Randall
I would also be willing to wait untill everyone in the states is sorted out and then start thinking about what to do with us poor deprived internationals

Where theres a will theres a way.

PS. Another Idea is to start with we get a list of names and adresses (this would prob take too long but just a thought to inspire thoughts) You donate a copy to the first person (as in donating your time, postage etc) and then once they receive starnotes they cross themselves off the list and donate a copy to the next person. Kinda like star notes chain letter

Wow this is going to be complicated no matter how you do it Randall..when is that convention???

By the way, don't send cash. They have those scanner things at the post that pick up cash. My poor 96 year old grandmother sent her 26 grandchildren $10 each in a card this year and about only 5 of the kids received their cards Obviously some workers aren't very honest and the post said it was 'not their problem'.

hey i have a suggestion too...
i think tht if Randall is going to post the star notes to EVERYONE ,,then it will b a gr8 deal of work for him...and if you start the star chain letter thing, though the idea is gr8 n cool...it will take ages to circulate it to everyone because the mail systen isnt as fast as the emails..
so i have an idea ,,,

some one of us must b having a scanner...if Randall sends the notes to him/her then he/she can scan them and send them to others through email..or send them to Ranall through email then he can make the website he was talking about in his earlier msg,,,

take care all!

I like that idea. It would need to be an AWESOME good scanner, though. A cheap one won't work. I can actually do a mass e-mail and send it to every Knowflake once I get it scanned into an attachment.

Hmmm, I can't wait.... yeah!

Has anyone volunteered to scan them yet? Also, what about PDF format? Is that easy to do? We have a computer whiz/designer at the studio I work for who could probably get the job done.... just say the word...

hey randall,

how about kinko's? it's a copier chain store that rents time on their equipment. they have very good scanners. you could make up for the cost by placing a small charge on each copy you send out.

just a thought.

I have a scanner, i can make a pdf... but i live in Australia. If pearly is near by that sound like a great offer! Pdf is a great way to go, dosent matter if your an IBM or a Mac user, all you need in Acrobat Reader to view them, which is free from the Adobe website!

Randall my parents sell books online maybe if you email me some locations around the world that you will be mailing to I could give you the cost. My parents have their own meter and everything and weigh and ship lots of stuff they have to know these things anyway I am sure they can help us.
