I first became interested in Astrology when I was about 10 years old. I'd see my Mother reading an Astro magazine or book, then getting deeper into studying it (before the days of computers; she taught herself how to cast a chart the old fashioned way)...and I got curious. I was always a prolific reader anyway so when I started asking her questions she began sharing her materials with me. Our mutual interest in Astrology was one of our stronger bonds. By the last few years of her life, I had delved more deeply into it than she had, and I was sharing what I learned with her! There's something nicely serendipitous about that. I came on the Internet 2 months after she passed and was SO glad to find other people I could talk to about Astrology. Now, my girls are carrying on the "tradition" and I find them asking me questions, reading my books and casting charts via Astro.com. And...I love learning about people! IP: Logged |

Once again, I have to attribute my intial interest to Linda. I was so young when I discovered her work that it's always seemed to be a part of my life. She made astrology so alive and accessible, a club everyone could join rather than something just for the very elite. About 8 years ago or so, I took some lessons from an astrologer living in the area, and learned a lot about charts, aspects, integration, etc. It is forever fascinating. I've read lots of the more technical books, but my basic understanding of all the signs, I still owe to Linda. Her works are so clear and friendly. Another fun author is Debbi Kempton Smith, whose "Secrets from a Stargazer's Notebooks" seems to emulate Linda's style. I'm also a fan of Stephen Arroyo, among others. I'm not a fan of fatalistic astrology. Saturn is our friend. I love Capricorns! IP: Logged |

Astrology always made sense to me, even as a kid, and the older I got, the deeper I checked into it beyond those initial newspaper sun sign columns. I think I received my first astrology book when I was about 13 as a birthday gift. Astrology's a fascinating study of humans, self, and history, all in one. I later studied social sciences at college, but found astrology, when applied well, to offer just a many rich, valid insights into personality and destiny as did any other psychological system around. But I betcha Linda and Jung have had tea together in the ether, and may have even made up with Freud. When I was a small child I would hear my Grandma say "What else could you expect from a Moon child?" when talking about a certain relative. My curiosity was piqued and I had to ask what she meant. Thus, at the age of 4, was I introduced to the concept of "As Above, so Below". I began by asking everyone for their birthday and then checking that information against the 'horrorscopes' in the newspaper. Somehow, that never seemed to tell me the whole story. Curiosity took over again! To the library I ran for books on Astrology. I was the 'eccentric' kid, always had a book in hand. Still do! Which led me to Linda's work and that wonderful "AHA!" moment when I kNEW I was not alone! The curiosity has never abated. I have a deep need to kNOW...everything! And so, I look to the Star Signs!

I grew up in southern Cali where there are alot of stores with metaphysical stuff and astrology and stuff. So anytime I read anything about Aquarius it seemed so right on that I took a liking to it. Of course reading Linda only made me more interested. ------------------ food is the only art that nourishes! IP: Logged |

I came by my interest in astrology honestly - both of my parents were into astrology and tarot cards. My mom gets excited if I talk astrology now and we can connect more talking about that kind of stuff.I also like to try and figure out - try to understand the other person - what makes one tick... ID

The first instance that I can recall...My Leo aunt comparing me to her Aquarius husband and saying that Im not a thing like him, and that I dont fit the description of what a Aquarius Sun sign should be. At that time I was probably around 9-10 years old. Little did she know there are other planets and their aspects that influence the personality of a person as well. I think I must have appeared more Pisces (my moon) and Gemini (asc) like. IP: Logged |

A tv ad. They sold folders with info about astrology. It’s starts with the basics, but then you have to keep buying “stuff” every week to add to the folder. I forgot to buy the rest of them I was 14 or 15. Anyway, I learnt the basics about signs and squares, trines etc. But not anything else. A couple years passed, I was in my library looking for mythology books and that’s when I found Sun Signs, and another very complex astro book. I fell in love with sun signs…it brought peace into my hectic life, like turning an out of control river into a calm stream. I bought almost all her books. Relationship Signs helped me out with the slightly more difficult ( for me ) astro stuff. Then LL pretty much taught me the rest of what I know - minus several things IP: Logged |

I was flipping through my grandmother's copy of Sun Signs. I didn't follow astrology at all, but I decided to check out my sign, and I noticed that Linda wrote of Scorpio: "One of the strangest patterns in astrology is the death of a relative in the family within either a year before or the year after the birth of a Scorpio. And when a Scorpio dies, there will be a birth in the family within a year before or a year after. It happens at least 95% of the time." As it happened, my aunt was born in March of 1954, after her grandfather (a Scorpio) died in Dec of 1953. Then, I (a Scorpio) was born in Nov of 1982, after my grandfather died in July of 1982. I found this absolutely amazing, and I've been hooked on astrology ever since. IP: Logged |
