9 A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden,
fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends
who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken
around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts
and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to
return to our hearts. -Washington Irving

10 There was never a great man who had not a great mother. Olive Schreiner

Things Mom's have been known to say.

* As long as you're living under MY roof you'll do what I say!
* I'll treat you like an adult when you start acting like one!
* You can look but DON'T TOUCH!
* Go to your room and think about what you did!
* How can you be bored? I was never bored at your age.
* You won't be happy until you break that, will you?
* You know I don't sleep until you get home!

Those quotes were beautiful Randall!

Last night, to kind of "top off" Mother's Day, my younger daughter Melinda (the one with the health problem I shared elsewhere here) presented me with a hand-written poem she composed for me. I hope it's okay to post it; it's not so much to brag as to share with you what this child means to me. She read this to me...and I didn't just cry...I sobbed.

Mother My Mother

a beautiful name
A friend and companion - you're
one in the same
A gift and role model,
a star in my sky,
A maker of dreams,
the reason in why
You're the one that I trust
the one that I love
an amazing spirit sent from above.
Everything you do, and everything
you say,
I will take with me in all
my waking days
And yes I will grow,
and yes I will fly
But I'll always come back
...till the day that I
die

I Love You!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
Melinda

My LOL to be sure.

Thanks for letting me share.
