Hello all!
I was wondering if some of you could lend some good advice... Do any of you face constant insecurity about "fitting in?"
As an adoptee, I'm in my 6th year of reunion yet I still feel empty inside and have a hard time entering new social groups. I've always felt like I was intruding and figured that being adopted had something to do with it. Almost as if I was taken from one family and "forced"into another. Does that make sense??? I'm in no way, unappreciative of what my wonderful parents have given me, it's just that I'm constantly plagued with abandonment issues, so my way of dealing with it is running before getting too close to people. I've been so distraught by this insecurity, that it's affecting my current relationship...
I need some help quick... Thank you all for listening to me...

Well SeaNympf, we have an entire thread here in Free-for-All that addresses some of the issues of those of us who are adoptees. Perhaps you would like to read it, just look around a bit and I'm sure you'll find it.

It might have some insight for you.
