Well, I avoided this thread for quite a while, knowing I would get upset if I read it...so now I've gone and done it. Eyes are all welled up and I'm here at work....

Not even gonna get on my soap-box about the sub-humans who harm animals on purpose.

Heidi, congrats on your new baby...hope she can come home with you soon. She's beautiful. I have known lots of people who do the same, purposely adopt older pets, and all have been wonderfully fulfilled by their new friends.

Well Juniperb,

I had to call the animal rescue today and tell them I am going to have to postpone adopting Cindy. Spanky has started vomiting again. He may have had a relapse of the IBD. I have to take him to the vet on Saturday. I don't think it's fair to Spanky or Cindy, for that matter, to bring her into a situation where he is not well. He was doing so well ... we were just about to take the tube out of his stomach and stop the medication. *sigh*
