Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden.
and
Rob Halford from Judas Priest.

as for being the band's frontman how can we ever forget Angus Young of AC/DC - the lead guitarist though!

Wow! This thread was posted a year before I ever joined the LL community.

Both David Gilmour and Roger Waters of Pink Floyd.

Otherwise there are too many to mention.

Female - Janis Joplin

Supersweet thread resurrection. My vote for "frontman" of those listed so far is going to have to go to the Roth man. I mean, face it... even people who can't stand his music still know exactly who he is... and that is the true meaning of the word, "frontman". Gwen is worth a mention too because I know exactly who she is, though I am no fan of her music. I'll throw Ozzy into the mix too, he knows how to get publicity.

As for favorite lead singer... there are way too many to mention.

I like the history on this thread. Nice prediction for Evanessence, Pixie! hehehehe

OH MY, Yes Jethro Tull!!!

Heavy Horses!!! I had that album when younger. In one of their sings off that album, they keep coughing at the end of the song and my mother just happened to be walking past my bedroom door one day while playing that coughing part of the song and asked " What the hell was I listening too????? I yelled Art Rock Mom, Art Rock!!!

Nice!!!

It was Roth who is quoted as saying:

"Money can't buy happiness. But it can buy you a boat big enough to pull up alongside of it."

Like Roth but no one could ever put on a show like Pink Floyd.

Another favorite of mine with flair is Rod Stewart.
