Anyone else start as early as me??This year: September, but I've been known to start as early as July/August. I hate that mad end-of-year rush! If I hit the mall during the holiday season, you can bet it's probably at 8 a.m when it opens! And by spacing it out, I'm not broke by the holiday. And...if I see something that should belong to a specific friend or relative, I know it's the right time to buy! IP: Logged |

Hi, Trillian...yeah, I do that too, but it only tends to amount to maybe 2 or 3 gifts out of 35, so I'm not that much further ahead of the game. lol Or I buy "generic" gifts that you could give to anyone, like candles etc. So I have this shelf in a closet that has nothing but brand new generic gifts, and believe me it does come in handy. Getting a little stressed about how close Christmas is though... IP: Logged |

A K-Mart closed in my town in March this year so I have only the kids and hubby to shop for. I bought Christmas for family and friends for 75% off! Did good this year! IP: Logged |

Hi Everyone Mercury will be retrograde again (4th time this year) on 18th December til 7th Jan - so Christmas shopping may get a little around that time. So I'd recommend not leaving it til the last mintue Hope Santa doesn't experience any transport problems Sue IP: Logged |

Thanks for the sage advice Cat. mmmMMMmmm....coooookies..... A co-worker gave me a recipe for turtle cheesecake...I know there's a recipe thread around here somewhere, so I'll have to post it. It would make a perfect holiday treat, since fat and calories don't count at that time of year. IP: Logged |

I`m working on it. I`m not one to wait to the last minute. I get so excited with the purchases tho, sometimes I give them early & scramble for a gift at Christmas. Many end up with cookies and fudge to fill in with what I`ve already gifted juniperb IP: Logged |

You know, I am not a big Christmas shopper. I buy little cutesy gifts all year long for my friends and have the worst time keeping gift secrets, so I wind up giving them when I buy them. All my friends think its a hoot. Oh, and birthday gifts....I have to wait til the last minute, otherwise I blow that surprise too!!!The thought of people feeling obligated to buy a gift cause they received one, makes me a little uncomfortable. Gifts should be bought with lots of love and received with an equally loving heart. ------------------ Hugs,LTD ~~The struggle keeps us young~~Daring to make mistakes and knowing there are none.~~DGM IP: Logged |

This year I am going to do more shopping online to beat the rush inside stores. It's great to have "shopping carts" at certain websites.IP: Logged |
