I thought it would be interesting to hear what everyone is currently reading or has read & what they thought. Any genre, but maybe not astrology because there's another forum.
So what books does everyone like?

I am reading The Guide to Getting it On: America's Coolest & Most Informative Book About Sex.

And let me tell you it covers everything, and then some

Good idea for a thread..I am always delving into a new book since my parents house is akin to living in a library.

Namaste!

My aunt heard through the family grapevine that I loved getting my grandmother's old books when she was finished. I am always after a good read to take me away, mystery, trashy romance, pop fiction, biography, whatever. She gave me THREE LARGE BOXES full of romance novels.....oh, and one John Grishom. I am currently working my way through one box....."Safe Harbour" by Luanne Rice is the current. It's actually quite good! So forgive me if I start becoming a bit more flowery in my writing!

If you're interested in non-fiction with real life enriching effects, I have to recommend Bettie Edie's 'Embrased by the Light', and Danion Brinkley's 'Saved by the Light'. Both are autobiographical accounts of two people who experienced NDE's (near death experiences)...what they experienced while clinically "dead", and the impact it had on their lives afterword, not all good btw. I swear, it will change who you are at the very core of your being. Basically, it'll make you a better person, and a happier person too.

I'm not reading a book at the mo, I'm trying to get through my periodicals. The Sacramento Bee, Utne, Atlantic Monthly, The New Yorker... they're all good publications, they just come so thick and fast!

Hiya

I finished Book 1 of 4 of The Odes of Horace on Sunday. My favorite poem so far is "Cleopatra." He writes about Caesar's hunt for her fleet on the sea and how she commited suicide. I am on my steady way with Book 2.

I am also reading a book of selected poems by Rainer Maria Rilke. His work is deeply inward and emotional. The book I have is biligual, so I can hear the rhythms in German when I read outloud.

I have the Celestine Prophecy, but have not read it. I found it in a paper bag filled with other books in front of a trash can.

hey sweetpeas, how is that Edgar Cayce book about the old testament?

Right now I'm reading The Astrology of Transformation by Dane Rudhyar and Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins for the second time. Oh and also picking up Women's Bodies Women's Wisdom by Christiane Northrup OBGYN occasionally. I've already read that one too but it's so interesting I've gone back to it.

Wow, Aphrodite...you NEED to read it. It's all about synchroniciity, and things happening at exactly the right time in your life....there's a reason you found that book! Look at it in that context when you read it, it will give you the goose bumps!

Love,
Nackie

I am addicted to books. I have so many that I still need to read.

Okay, right now I am reading Dancing with the Wheel by Sun Bear, Wabun Wind et. al

"Dancing with the Wheel teaches you how to apply this philosophy to your daily life through many practical exercises and ceremonies. These exercises will help you gain energy from the spirits, which can heal both humans and the earth."

It is the companion to "The Medicine Wheel".

I am also reading the Anne Rice book "Blackwood Farm" from the Vampire Chronicles. That's my brain candy book.

I also bought two new books on Tantric Yoga. They are a bit intense.
