I am new to this site, and I have spent some time rereading old threads..One thing that seems fairly consistant regarding astrology discussions is the bashing of earth signs, and Virgos in particular.
We arent sexy like Scorps, charming like Leos, financially savvy like Cappies, quirky like Aquas, etc so on ad nauseaum.
Yup, i am one.. and maybe I am feeling sensitive tonight, but after reading the thread on celebrities and sun signs, I am about ready to.. to... organize my sock drawer or SOMETHING.....haha. If i was a novice to astrology, I would be crying. Virgos are all wacked out obsessive compulsive nit pickers whose best attribute is being a worker.. YAY. One of the reasons I loved Linda for so long was her ability to make all of us equal, and appealing. Even if I was not as glamourous as the other signs, she made me feel as if there was something redeemable about this life cycle in Virgo. Its not easy being the most "human" sign in the zodiac, left here to clean up the messes from everyone else. I am not trying to hurt anyones feelings here, but can we all cut the Virgos some slack? Its hard enough to deal with the prediliction of self -criticism, much less to get the same from every corner. Or... hey... maybe I am just feeling my Saturn return a bit too much... K IP: Logged |

Yeah, you're not the first to comment about how you guys get a bad rap. I personally love Virgos. Every meaningful relationship I've ever had has been with a Virgo man. Something about them that I need more of. No, you're not "the" glamorous folk usually, but that's because you don't want to be. But, if you decided you're going to be glamorous, you'd nail that stereotype.. But, usually, you're happy being the ones that keep the rest of us in check by reminding us that we're all flawed, but in a non "in your face!" way, just as a matter of fact. You keep things straight for those of us who can't be bothered, and you're also terribly witty and funny people, you crack us up! It's just that you dish out the critiques so elequently and accurately, we get a little sore with you sometimes. But, hey, someone's gotta do it, right?IP: Logged |

I love virgos, I have a virgo moon. But I don't think everyone here knocks them, maybe it was for a joke or just humorous. Sometimes we like to play on the stereotypical side of things- never to be taken personally. It's just for fun. Like saying to an Aquarian member that no one else no knows what they're talking about etc....
And is it not said that virgos have character? they have personality?

Virgo moon here too  and an aquarian sun. I like me just fine and I have a whole list of reasons why A sense of humor is a must for me and I don`t take anyones pokes seriously. Every sign has wonderful qualities and most imporantly, a purpose. juniperb  IP: Logged |

Ha -- Well, i know too about cleaning up everybody else's messes -- If affects ME with Saturn in Virgo in 10th house -- I can't even tell ya how many employer's messes i have cleaned up -- and i VERY tired of it too. Year and years of it.And Look at Raquel Welch and Lynda Carter!! I believe they both haveVirgo in there somewhere, Venus I think -- Often Virgo people stay younger looking with age. I posted this somewhere else -- but i have read that the most difficult lives belong to Pices, Virgo and scorpio. So, we have a LOT to deal with and most dont understand. I personally find virgo men very intruiging. Two of my closest male friends are Virgo and i find them fascinating, interesting people. Very witty, very funny. Though im totally attracted to these two guys i could never date them. I dont know if its a common characteristic, they are both very aggressive, but in an inward way, to themselves. I find they often come to me for an ear to listen. as a friend i can totally do that no problem! but being a Libra i just cannot stand conflict and i could not be with a person who gets that angy with themself. I also could never be with either of them beacuse they are two of my best friends and are completely wonderful and i wouldnt stuff that up for the world!thats my input! kisses Jacqueline IP: Logged |

I love virgos! First of all, I don't think they should be trashed because their anylizing minds are a big help. They take great care and pay attention to detail.My first love was a Virgo, and I know some other great ones. I think they are sweet, funny, sensitive. And yes, they can be sexy. And by the way, I'm Aquarius, and I know how it is to be characterized all the time by something you find well, not attractive. I always read "ALOOF" and I am not. Well true to my nature, I love to stand back and observe, very much so. But I am warm and affectionate, contrary to some ideas about Aquarians. Yes, Virgos rock!  ------------------

hrmm I don't think I know any Virgos. But I think lots of signs get picked on. I mean.. when was the last time anyone had anything nice to say about an Aries (except for an Aries!) ?Try not to take it too personally  I'm sure it's not meant to be mean.

Because they are all idiots and probably haven't met a actual Virgo person.
It probably is humour value though.
Alot of people get their opinions from other people.
Imagine being in the magazine all the time with a load of rubbish written about yourself, how do you defend youself??? You know it's rubbish but how do you make everyone else know it's crap. You can't, you just have to ignore it.

Hey all......Cat, thanks for the link..reading it made me feel badly for having JUMPED to conclusions.
I guess my Virgo nature of criticism got hte best of me that day. I had no idea Lynda Carter had any Virgo..maybe thats why I was obsessed with that Wonder Woman show when I was a kid. I know most of the typecasting of signs done here is all in good fun..in the stereotype way. Thanks for correcting me....

motherkonfessor, I totally agree with you, as I am a virgo. They are usually made out to be nit-picking, over-analytical spinsters...in several other posts I have said that I dislike being a virgo very much because it is hard to escape that stereotype. I'd much rather be a "fun" sign like saggitarius or leo, IP: Logged |

Purplezen each sign is unique in it's own way! I wish you virgos could just love being you. I must say, if the whole world were leos and sags, um, that wouldn't be so great! We can all learn from each other. And we don't have to fit our stereotype, go ahead, show we are capable of change!------------------

Gawd!!!! I understand that....I am a Scorpio. Contrary to the threads devoted to us here in LL, word is everywhere else that we are conniving backstabbing liars who only crawl out from under their rocks to either stab someone or have sex with them. It's hard to be a nice person when everyone expects you to bite their head off. But when I have a bad day like everyone else, I feel bad for biting someones head off, because it is so 'characteristic' of what I am working hard on not being. Virgos give me headaches and I feel a great responsibility toward them. Got South Node in Virgo + Saturn in Virgo. I have heard that wherever your South Node lands, you have some kind of debt to pay back to those people. Like you mistreated them in a past life or something? Also, wherever your saturn falls in your chart, you serve those sun people. Well, that would fit my situation. I become an instant doormat to virgos. Let me point out, before I send people into a major huff and pout - that I am NOT picking on Virgos. Just Virgos relating to my chart. Okay? Calm down everybody. Relax.
