I thought it might be interesting to see what we could come up with here for songs that seem characteristic of a specific sign's vibration. Here's what I've come up with. (I'm still fine tuning it somewhat)

ARIES: Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting ~ Elton John

TAURUS: Put Another Log on the Fire (just kidding,
kinda stumped on this one...I'll think on it)

GEMINI: I'm Every Woman ~ Witney Housten (?)

CANCER: Kid ~ Pretenders ("Kid..my only kid. You look so sad. Well, I feel sad too")

LEO: I am WOMAN - Hear Me Roar ~ Helen Reddy
and Any Man of Mine ~ Shania Twain

VIRGO: No Rain (all I can say is that my life is pretty plain) ~ Blind Melon

LIBRA: Mumbo number 5 (just kidding. Stumped here too, I'll come back to it)

SCORPIO: Stay (you better hope and pray you make it back someday into your own world) ~ Shakespear's Sisters

SAGITTARIUS: Stay Tonight (fight the break of dawn, come tomorrow, tomorrow I'll be gone) Eagle Eye Cherry

CAPRICORN: *edit* No Scrubs ~ TLC

AQUARIUS: Didn't Know I Was Looking for Love (till I found you) ~ Everything But The Girl

PISCES: Semi-Charmed Life (I want something else to get me through this) ~ 3rd Eye Blind
and also Everything I do, I do it for You ~ Brian Adams

Oh my word Lioneye , I always thought "Put Another Log on the Fire" was an awful song... mainly cuz it reminded me of an ex taurus and his chauvenistic (sp?) ways.

Put another log on the fire.
Cook me up some bacon and some beans.
And go out to the car and change the tyre.
Wash my socks and sew my old blue jeans.
Come on, baby, you can fill my pipe,
And then go fetch my slippers.
And boil me up another pot of tea.
Then put another log on the fire, babe,
And come and tell me why you're leaving me.

We are talking about the same song arn`t we ? LOL

Yeah, that's the one! I only put that there in jest...I'm still trying to think of one that addresses some of the positive qualities of Taurus.

anyone?

This is a great thread... lioneye, your Scorpio Pick is dead on... she sounds powerful and obsessive and sexy all at once...(and i love that song too.)
how about that one song by Alanis Morissette for Scorp too.. "I Want You to Know" i think thats the title...an angry Scorp, anyways.

"Like a Rock" does fit Taurus really well..

ummm "With or WIthout You" by U2 for Libra..
its a beautiful song...
Were you thinking of "No Scrubs" by TLC for the Cappies??

ooh this is fun.. now I have a challenge..
great idea!!!

No Scrubs ~ TLC... that's perfect for Cappie! Fooey! I wish I would have thought of that. I was actually thinking of a song from the mid 90's or so, that went "You gotta have a J.O.B. if you wanna Be With Me" But, maybe we should find one that refers to Cappies staying power and success driven nature, you know...positive qualities.

I think the song your thinking of by Alannis Morrisette is 'You Oughta Know!', and now it's stuck in my head!! But that actually kind of reminds me of Aries. Kind of an 'innocence recently lost and pi$$ed about it' theme. Have you ever seen an Aries woman scorned in love??...YIKES...they could kill you with their bare hands!

I'm on a Beatles/Neil Diamond/Carpenters kick so bear with me ...but this is what I've come up with, with a few other artists thrown in:

Aries: I Am...I Said: Neil Diamond
We've Only Just Begun: Carpenters
First Time Ever I Saw Your Face: Roberta Flack

Taurus: Stay (Just A Little Bit Longer): Four Seasons, Human Nature, others
Killing Me Softly (With His Song): Roberta Flack
You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman: (orginally) Aretha Franklin

Gemini: Hello/Goodbye: Beatles
I Want to Hold Your Hand: Beatles
Piano Man: Billy Joel

Cancer: Yesterday Once More: Carpenters
Your Mother Should Know: Beatles

Leo: Superstar: Carpenters
(They Long To Be) Close To You: Carpenters

Virgo: Solitary Man: Neil Diamond
A Hard Day's Night: Beatles

Libra: All You Need is Love: Beatles, Libra John Lennon
You Are So Beautiful: Joe Cocker

Scorpio: Always A Woman: Billy Joel
Thank The Lord For The Night Time: Neil Diamond

Sagittarius: Beautiful Noise: Neil Diamond
Freebird: Lynyrd Skynyrd

Capricorn: When I'm Sixty-Four: Beatles
Always On My Mind: Elvis, Willie Nelson, etc.

Aquarius: With A Little Help From My Friends: (originally) Beatles
Hello Again: Neil Diamond

Pisces: Can't Buy Me Love: Beatles
Forever In Bluejeans: Neil Diamond
My Sweet Lord: George Harrison

Had a hard time limiting myself; once I got started I came up with loads of songs for most signs. Yeah...Like a Rock for Taurus, I Am Woman for Leo ladies...oh, and how about Money (That's What I Want) for Capricorn? (sung by the Beatles, among others).

Great thread lioneye!

PS...Ain't No Mountain High Enough...I think the Supremes

Wow, Twin Lady! You're good at this! Those songs are bang-on, and you're focussing on the sign's positive/endearing qualities, rather than their not so admirable qualities!

Good on ya!

Leo: (They long to be) Close To You ~ The Carpenters.

I LOVE that song for Leo!! I just Love that!!

Hey, thanks lioneye; glad you liked the songs.

I was thinking about a good one for Virgo and this came to mind. At least it reminds me of a Virgo man near and dear to me. An "oldie but goodie":

Turn Around, Look At Me
The Vogues

There is someone walking behind you,
turn around, look at me.
There is someone watching your footsteps,
turn around, look at me.
There is someone who really needs you,
here's my heart, here's my hand.
Turn around, (turn around,) look at me,
(look at me,) understand, understand,
That there's someone who'll stand beside you.
Turn around, look at me.
And there's someone who'll love and guide you.
Turn around, look at me.
Oh, I've waited, but I'll wait forever for you to come to me.
Look at someone (look at someone) who really loves you,
yeah, loves you. Turn around, look at me.

Turn around...look at me.

I don't know. It just reminds me of the kind of quiet, steady, unassuming love Virgo is capable of.

It could probably apply to a Taurus or Capricorn too, though Virgo came to mind first.

Just my thoughts based on experience.

Yeah, Cat, I know that wasn't the best pick for Virgo. I couldn't come up with a better one. But it's not a bad one either, I think. I meant it in terms of how Virgo's appreciate simplicity and a calm existence, as they tend to be the nervous kind. Most the Virgos I know are quite happy living an unpretentious existance, as in they don't need much, and they dislike excesses and extravagance. They can be very cynical too, about theirselves and their lives.

Check it out...

"All I can say is that my life is pretty plain
I like watching the puddles gather rain
And all I can do is just pour some tea for two
And speak my point of view
But it's not sane"

Eh, eh?

"I just want someone to say to me, oh oh oh oh
I'll always be there when you wake
You know I'd like to keep my cheeks dry today
So stay with me, and I'll have it made.

It can fit a Virgo's life, kinda sorta, no?

Twin Lady's was good too. Better, actually.

Remember this? We didn't have too many know-flakes who were up to the challange around that time....

Thought maybe some of our new-comers would be really good at this, so I pulled it up again.
