Anybody else get slammed with this darn storm?

It was freaky yesterday as it got so warm (48 degrees). Early evening we had severe thunderstorms with tremendous lightning strikes and awesome thunder.High winds came screeching thru and sounded like grandmother earth was dismanteling hers-elf. As evening progressed, the temp plummeted, the snow started flying and a blizzard swept across us. 60-70 mph winds, screaming from the north caused severe damage here and power lines, phone lines et al are in a tangle. Even a barn roof ripped off and was sent into the woods. The whole county is in a mess

Thank the God/dess for woodstove, generator and hand pump well. The phone line down hurt tho as thats my internet service and I`ve been lost without it.
We had to move a late hatch of baby chicks into the house (again) and that keep the other four leggeds out of my hair and entertained so I get keep everything up and running.

And how is your weather?

We got hit with wind, here in PA, juniperb. Gusts up to 6o mph! Lots of people w/o power, traffic lights out, a real mess. I heard that a little further west they're getting snow squalls.

I used static guard this morning. Winter is here!

Are you weathering the storm well, juniperb?

Yeah, what Trillian said, but in Northwest New Jersey. At college today, a tree knocked down lines, and there was a fire, power outtage, over all exciting day at school. Its still bad out, but haven't lost power yet.

It was sunny, it rained, it snowed, it hailed, hurricane force winds, and it changes about every 15-20 minutes....weird!!

When I saw reports of the storm on the news, I thought about all you Easterly Knowflakes. I hope everyone is OK. Like Juniperb, most people where I live have wood stoves and access to water even without electricity. Of course, that is because avalanches take out our electricity several times a year. I hope all of you back East are OK. Love and light your way.
