I actually cheated and puchased some numbing cream. It is called emla cream and numbs the skin for needles and such. I only felt it being done on a small area where the cream was not applied (I only got a small tube) but that was not painful, more of an annoying feel. So basically I did not feel a thing! It has not hurt yet! It took about 40 mins and I just leant forward and chatted to the tattooist - easy! I highly recommend that cream as the other person getting theirs done at the time was grimacing and I was fine.

I found out I am picses Sun and moon so it was worthwhile getting that. Next time I am having the sun and moon tattoed on either side of my symbol. Who says tattoos are addictive?

I know! They are totally addictive. That sounds lovely! Congratulations! I like the idea of the sun and moon alongside it. As long as it is in proportion with that area of the body. I like when tattoos enhance the particular area of the body they are on, like they are natural. My friend has a beautiful tiger lily on her stomach, and black flash art around it, that exactly fits along the curve of her hip and belly, and it is just so feminine and lovely. Of course, once a baby comes along, we'll see how beautiful it is, but oh well. My pixie's wings curve upwards on my lower back, as it curves outwards leading to my bum. It looks good there. ( if I belly dance, she flaps her wings! ) Good idea with the emla cream. Next time, maybe I'll use it. But I swear, it tickled for me! I mean, it was a burn-y tickle, but I had to hold on to the table to stop from laughing and jerking my body away. Not to self.... next tattoo does not go on a tickle spot!

I have one on my hip that I got when I was 18 (4 years ago). I wanted it on my lower back, but since I am quite thin the tattoo artist suggested a more fleshy area so it would not hurt as much.

I love tattoos though I dont have any myself. I find them to be incredibly sexy too.

I have a friend who had his natal chart tattooed on his forearm. Talk about a conversation starter....

Wow, a natal chart on the forearm? That is pretty hard core and sounds like a major conversation starter.

I would be afraid that it gave too much of me away. LOL....I can be a bit private and somewhat secretive at times.

I am always amazed at how brazen people can be. I have had perfect strangers see the top of my tat peeking from under my jeans or sock and they point to it and say "Hey, what does that mean, what is it"?

LOL....granted most of them are men.

Hmm -- ok, ill be the resident fuddy-duddy!! LOL (Is my Saturn in Virgo responsible here?)

I don't find them attractive generally and have never considered getting one. And i even have a Scorp Asc, also Aries Moon, Venus and Mars.

The small tasteful ones are ok, but who needs my permission anyway? hehe I do have a friend who has them all over her sagging breasteses -- sheweeeeee! I'll passsssssss.

Pixel I think I saw a place where you can post your picutes on Lindaland. maybe someone can help you there?

I had my tattoo done for myself and for my own reasons. not for fashion, friends or to be sexy. If people like them good, if not good. I love them.

Thought i'd resurface this.... Now that I know how to post pics.... The tattoo artist redesigned it to fit on skin, rather than paper, but it is basically the same.. in grey and black... just shading, no colour.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!! NEVER F&%#$ING MIND!!!!!! Well, I guess this thread is just resurfaced for your reading pleasure, for I am a mentally challenged knowflake!
Maybe I'll revisit when my brain stops melting!

I like tattoes as long as:

a) They're creative
b) They're not garish
c) They're not vulgar

I think having tattoes on every inch of your upper body, for example, is ugly- but that's just from my eyes. I'd like to get a tattoo when I get older- probably on my back =). Do you have to be eighteen to get a tattoo?
