oh, it was nice.. pretty mellow. Spent the early part of the day lounging around the house with the beloved and munchkin, watching a movie. Then in the evening we had a SUPER AMAZING DELICIOUS dinner with my son's great aunt and her family. I recieved some nice watercoloring supplies...my latest hobby..But the real thrill came the day after.. my oh so sweet Scorp brought home a cake he had made at work (he's a baker..), saying that we'd forgotten the most integral part of the birthday..The Birthday Wish! Then we went out to thrift stores looking for a couch for our apartment, since that's what I really really reallly wanted..didn't find one that was satisfactory, so we sat down at the last store in these nice cushy chairs to rest, right next to some bookshelves. I glance over and my eye is caught by a purple binding...It was a brand new copy of _Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom_ for only 3 bucks! I was thrilled..I'd been wanting a copy but the 19 bucks for a new one was waay out of our budget.. As I'm excitedly reaching for it, my eye falls to a red, hardcover book sitting three books down the row from it..
A FIRST EDITION OF _LOVE SIGNS_ ! Only 3 dollars as well! It is in near mint condition! A friend had borrowed my worn and ratty paperback copy of it and never returned it and I've missed having a copy dearly..
It was a most thrilling birthday gift. I also find it synchronous that the first edition of _Love Signs_ was published the year I was born! So it really was a perfect gift for my quarter-century birthday. IP: Logged |

Thanks everyone!.. This year I had a sweetly simple birthday..german chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting, buffalo burgers and watched Spiderman 2 with the family. ooh and I got this great book of 5000 spells that a woman researched from cultures all over the world and texts spanning back hundreds of years.. It's got some facinating stuff in it. :reading:
Tonight I think we are going out for pizza with some friends and I get to play poooool! yay! It's my Faaaavorite game. p.s.
s'okay, Randall, not to worry...I know you've got alot on your mind right now..
