Stuff fell of my Grandma's shelves! Ohhh, my poor Geology major friend missed it...poor girl. Oh! AND they felt it in Front Royal...wow. Perhaps that's where it was - there's a fault line out there.*continues singing*

Pretty rare. We've had a couple (I mean, there're little ones every day, we just don't feel them), but this is the strongest here in a while. It turns out that it was centered a little bit west of Richmond, VA (near the mountains) - 'cause if you've got mountains, you've got a faultline. Down in Charlottesville, there was a little bit of loose property (glasswear, etc) damage. http://www.nbc4.com/news/2693830/detail.html IP: Logged |

And no worries, ya'll. Nothing bad's happened - and this isn't the end of the world or anything, or unprecedented. The East Coast has had some pretty severe quakes (not that often and back before many real records were kept).Ohh, and this one was centered 3 miles below the surface of the earth. IP: Logged |

LOL -- ground trembling, stuff in house rattling -- low key, but possibly threatening. I spose this was a shock to everyone? -- Well, it was a surprise to me - don't know if it had been on news or anything. I'd say it lasted more than one but less than 4 minutes.Very interesting -- what ya think going through here Corri? IP: Logged |

*shrugs*Just a shaker - more severe than we're used to, but just a shaker. The last time there was one this strong in this area was 1875, apparently, so it's not unheard of. Heck, in geological time that's not even the fraction of the beating of an eye. IP: Logged |

My daughter and I felt one yesterday at about 10:00AM PST. We were on a bridge and it began to move up and down. It was a VERY solid, very large cement bridge. We're sure it was an earthquake. Terra is gearing up folks. Still not sure how many years or months we have to prepare. Get your provisions stocked up, get yourselves to safe areas and don't wait until the last moment. This is going to be some VERY scary stuff. (Course isn't the scariest part of the story always just before the happy ending?) Life, Truth, Love and Light... daf IP: Logged |

Strange days indeed. We had a torrential rainstorm that lasted all night. I`m totally flooded out this a.m. Unheard of in MI in December They predicted 6 inchs of snow so it caught us so unaware. Listen to Daf, times are achanging. Anyone who is interested should try to read Mary Summer Rains 'Phoenix Rising'. Excellent info in there and specifically for pertinent areas. juniperb ------------------ If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans. ~James Herriot IP: Logged |
