Originally, we opened the Moderators Only Forum when we were experiencing trouble on the site and needed a place to bounce off new ideas. We haven't had any significant trouble here in a very long time, and so the Mod Forum has become sort of elitist and can be inferrred by some as promoting disunity on the site. So, we are doing away with it and adding another Forum to take its place. Post your ideas here, and we'll see what we can do to make Lindaland even more AWESOME than it already is!

BTW, that will give us 19 Forums, which is a very good number.

I don't have an idea for a forum, Randall (my brother's name is also Randall (Randy!) ) but is it possible to put up our birth info on our profiles? That would be so helpful sometimes!

Good luck with your forum idea, 19 sounds impressive!

You could add a forum dedicated to current events and the implications and discussion of how the things that are happening affect us and/or what we as individuals can do to make thing better.

see, that was something that always confused me, the way it is written I always thought Global unity should have been to discuss the cultural differences between people, but that never seems to be done there, instead it is cluttered with the current events stuff, I was not sure if that was intentional or not.

You're right, greyheart! The true meaning of Global Unity has been lost sight of.

I brought up a few old threads and hope more people will contribute!

How about a book-buying forum? Or a book trading forum? A "Book Store", new and used. I know I'd use it.

Actually, Randall you could make this site self-supporting by joining Amazon's affiliate program, and providing links to Linda Goodman books, and others that are intended to help further our personal evolutionary quests.

I, for one, can tell you that I would personally use the links to find certain books. It's hard to find a really good assortment of astrology books especially in the retail stores. They all seem to carry books that discuss sun signs only, and I'm beyond that now.

lioneye, a great place to find both inexpensive used and priceless books is
www.abebooks.com

It's a clearing house for sellers all over the world, I've had great success with them!

Ok, then how about a "linda-land book club", kind of like the "Oprah's Book Club". We could talk about books we've read, rave about them, or vent, whatever the case may be?

(I'd still like to help support Linda-Land by buying books through here)

Thanks, Trillion...I'll check it out!

That sounds quite groovy -

I was going to suggest something like that, perhaps in which we could discuss the spiritual/astrological/esoteric implications of movies, books, shows, etc.
I mean, as far as movies go, there are quite a few out there w/ substantial subtext (if they aren't explicit about it); and there are countless invaluable books, articles (both on-line and in print), etc. circulating around.

Maybe Spirituality in Media?
Spiritual Media?

It is sometimes hard coming into a new forum alone, trying to make friends and such. I think it would be cool to have an 'introducing know flakes' section, like a know flake bio. For instance, you have one post that is your own and you can add info about yourself including astro data. Therefore, when starting up people can say 'oh your the girl from oz who likes playing basketball and reading'. Also, if someone is reading a post and thinks you are a little aggressive or opinionated on a certain topic could refer to your intro post to see your background. For instance if I was highly opinionated about life after death, I may have had a near death experience or something similar. It could help understand people a little better and give some interesting reads on people’s life stories at the same time. You would give as much or as little info as wanted. I for one find real life stories and info most interesting than any other topic. The moderator of this forum could have a system of bringing certain posts to the top so each bio is regularly filtered through for people to see and other know flakes can reply to your stories or give words of encouragement etc.

How about a Forum on Religions of the World?
I mean, I know a lot of us take a little from here and a little from there ... but I mean actually getting into concepts from the major "recognized" religions (including Wicca) and discussing how they relate at their core and how they differ ... you know, things like that. It could get pretty interesting. And, as long as we have someone knowledgable on the subject moderating the forum (which I'm sure we do ), then we should be able to avoid any confrontational issues that might arise ... some people are very sensitive to their beliefs, etc. It should be made clear (and I think it is since I haven't seen it happening in other forums) that no one is to "bash" any beliefs ... just discuss them. You know how to moderate, geez, do I ramble or what? Anyway, all in all, I think it'd be okay, and also a good resource for those of us curious about the different things people believe around the world.

Heres where I go when I want to buy a book. http://www.bestwebbuys.com/books/search?t=Author&q=Koolman

It gives you the best prices that can be found. some are used, but still in great shape. I haven't paid retail in years.

How about a specific Question and answer Forum? I know that a lot of questions about astrology are in several forums, but this would be spefic questions about their love, life, or career.

Elitiism is not always wrong, anymore than democracy is always right.
Missing from your excellent site is a forum titled "Clandestine lifestyle possibilities for intending immortals," or some such.
In a fallen world, such a forum would eventually have to become a password-gated sub-section of Oranges and Hyacynths. Probably.

Wow, there are three excellent ideas that have been noted (well, in my opinion).

I would love to see a Bio / Chart forum. It would make it so much easier to try and help someone out by looking at their chart, then having them post it a million times lOL..

I also love the idea of the book trading / buying site.

Then there is Lanny's idea of the specific question site.

Ohhhhhh, soooo many options

Randall,

I have wanted to ask you for a long time to have a Pets/Animal forum. People that have pets and love animals consider them part of their family. I love to talk about my pets and also get support from fellow animal-lovers who have experienced similar situations to mine, or we can disucss illnesses, supplements, training, etc. We can also post pictures of our pets and discuss animals in the wild, etc. You know Linda loved animals and her pets.
We recently lost Kona, my Mom's Doberman on Dec. 30. We were so heartbroken to lose her and still are. I just started smiling again a few days ago. That makes 3 dogs we lost in 2003. I sure would like support to talk about my pet loss with other pet lovers. In 2002 I lost both my cats.
For those who want a book forum, there already is one. If you go to the home page, you can see a description of each forum. "For the Pilgrim's Progress" is about books.
Religion and Spirituality can be discussed at "Universal Codes" as it is listed there.
Newcomers can post at "Free for All".
There are already 2 astrology forums so you can post people's charts and questions there. There is already a Love forum, "Soul Unions", so people can discuss their love life there.
Well thanks for my 2 cents worth.

wow, hmm.. lots of good ideas.
I'd have to put my vote in for a 'getting to know the knowflakes' kinda place..or 'getting to know the knowflakes and their animal companions'...they could go hand in hand..
It seems like that would be really useful.

Wow, these are some great ideas here!

They are all hard to choose from, but I guess if I had to place a top pick, I'd have to go with the book selling/trading one though.

That could be very interesting and convenient to have right on this site. That would be a really great choice for a new Forum, I think.

My second choice would just be the whole bookclub idea in and of itself too.

I need to do much more reading this year, and I would LOVE to have the chance to discuss the spiritual ins and outs of books and things with such smart, insightful Knowflakes as yourselves!

I'm looking forward to hearing what the final choice will be!

I like the Book Club idea. We can discuss all kinds of books related to Linda's field. We can have short summaries that either rave or complain about any book. The moderator should be a book-lover, who would have time to introduce, and talk about certain books important to certain teachings. Pilgrim's Progress was originally intended for this idea, but now it's more of free for fall discussion on Sci-fi subjects and earth based beliefs. Our latest discussion is on John Titor who supposedly is a Time Traveler.

Umm.. I really think we have it covered... I mean, Global Unity has become the current events forum, even if it was meant for something else, and Free-for-All does nicely for everything that doesn't have a forum of its own. The new forum has to be something that people will actually discuss.

The best thing would be a Psychic Reading forum-- that is, if we could find a resident psychic.
