Punxsutawney Phil sees shadow

GOOD news for skiers. Bad news for sunbathers: the world's most famous furry forecaster saw his shadow on a chilly Groundhog Day today, predicting six more weeks of winter.

Well, it's official, 6 more weeks of winter. Enjoy! But hey, that's only 3,628,800 seconds and counting------

Brrrrrrr Proxieme, it's only 57*F here, right now. Not exactly my ideal night to stroll hand and hand on the beach. No Moon either.

Aw---purplezen, I didn't see your post. Sorry, didn't mean to crash your topic.

When I lived in Key West, we'd wear big ol' jackets and sweaters when it got in the 60's!! I remember going to a spring baseball game and a bunch of us left the bleachers to go buy blankets at K-Mart! We had on jackets and wrapped ourselves in the blankets and the thermometer was registering 61 degrees!!

Every dive I made that winter had me scrambling for my quarter inch wet suit!!!!

ROFLMAO, 57 warm & wonderful degrees jwhop..... When I get up in the a.m. & the wood stove is on "vacation" it`s a blessing is it doesn`t get below 57.

Flannel & fleece is a definite part of nightwear

We're at about 60 or so here today in southern 'Bama
This is nuts - I'm only about an hour's drive away from the Gulf Coast now.
White sands and blue waters, here I come!
(Hey, that's a huge divergence from the mid-US Atlantic coast.)

The weather in San Francisco is 55 F and rainy.

I love flannel too, Juniperb. That and down comforters.

What an odd time to allow your wood stove to go on vacation juniperb. July is vacation time for wood stoves in Northern climes

Throw another log in that stove at night and close those dampers down for a warm greeting in the morning.

I wish you folks in the frozen north would quit throwing weather tantrums our way. Our temps here are still below normal.

Well if *cough*Canada*cough* would quit blowing that cold over here...it might rise above freezing. OK, today it rained so it was a bit warmer. I'm hearing upper 30's through the grapevine...

Yeah, I think we may need to erect a wind barrier at the Canadian border Just remember that all those warm breezes you enjoy in the Canadian spring and summer come from south of your border.

Think you're on to something Oxy. Perhaps our Canadian neighbors could arrange to face north when they exhale.

Glad to hear you're not aggrieved purplezen.

Oh well, at least there's no bugs in the winter
