I was wondering if anyone has read 'The Celestine Prophecy' by James Redfield. I think that Mr. Redfield is one of the 'others' that Nahtan told Linda about in the Preface to Star Signs that would continue the mission if Linda couldn't.

I have read it years ago - don't remeber much. Just the feeling that the book left me with - very soothing and calming my worrisome nature

Did anyone know about sequel books 'The Tenth Insight' and 'The Secret of Shambhala: In Search of the Eleventh Insight?' I found them to be...very insightful.

There's also a website www.celestinevision.com

I read Celestine Prophecy in 1996 and thouroughly enjoyed it. Been trying for years off and on to finish 10th insight, but can't seem to get through it, although it is very good. I have found both books quite inspiring and informative. Deffinitly give you something to think about, eh?

Eh.
Sorry, but those books didn't do a thing for me, except annoy me.

Just a slight digression.

Carry on.

Well, Trillian, I did find the unrealistic lack of intelligence in the main character to be annoying, but I do believe in the insights themselves. After all, I still think Mr. Redfield is one of the "others who will continue the mission." And if you thought the story books were annoying, you should see the Experiental Guides (which are just like school textbooks with exercises to fill in)...

To each her (or his) own. Just isn't my sort of thing.

You can teach someone to read, or teach someone to write...but anything that attempts to teach someone to think, especially in such a restricted manner, is suspect.

Love and enlightenment aren't in essays.

We are all here to, as you put it, "continue the mission." None of us is more special, nor more capable of "enlightenment" (term of convenience), than any other.

So...you know, peace, love, and instant karma.

I agree with you, Trillian.

I kept getting mad while reading the book, although I did get the not-so-subtle messages in it. More like got whacked over the head with them lol. Again and again. I don't know, the book somehow filled me with aggression.
