Oooooooooooh boy, DM, you are talking to a Cure freak from the old school......"3 Imaginary Boys"....accuracy-foxy lady-so what?
"Boys Don't Cry"...killing an arab-fire in cairo-10:15 Saturday Nite
"17 seconds" play for today, M, a forest, in your house
"faith/carnage visors" PRIMARY!!!!!! the holy hour...actually, I adore this album
"pornography" a strange day, short term affect, siamese twins
"japanese whispers" lovecats
"the top" wailing wall, the empty world, shake dog shake
"head on the door" whole album
"kiss me kiss me kiss me" the pivotal Cure Album....not a bad song on it, every one shows the uniqueness of the band's (albeit weird) vision and musical skills. If you are just starting out with the band, I HIGHLY advise you to get this one.
"disintegration" oh, the hours i have logged listening to this. YEARS. Oddly, its the epitome of mope rock but gave the Cure their first top 10 smash (in the US).
"mixed up" rehash of old songs, but the new single "never enough" is awesome.
"wish" a letter to elise (SOB), cut, end.
I really didn't like "wild mood swings."
Most of the past few years has been releases of concerts, old stuff, etc. "Bloodflowers" is ok, but I haven't bonded with it.
Sorry, you asked for only ONE song.
I think its impossible for me to just pick one.
But, on the Staring at the Sea compilation, there is also a "B-sides" comp....I think only on the cassette version. Its called "A Few Days After This" and I hear it in my dreams. Its almost like a waltz. Its full of love, longing, loss, and its really short.
I could talk about the Cure for days..in fact, I have! Back in the days before the internet my best friend and I would make a contest to see who could get the most Cure paraphenalia.....a hard trick, without the WWW and most music stores would look at you crosseyed. We would drive all over the state looking.
Ahhhhhh, the good ole days......LOL
