Ah, yes... Edgar Cayce, one of the most fascinating and devoted humans to have ever graced the earth....
And a DIVINE soul was he...although I think he'd be more inclined to celebrate his death-day, because I'm pretty sure there was a grand reception waiting to greet him when he passed over...I'm sure they missed him in Heaven while he was away.

LOL Lioneye, I can see where you're coming from. I've always felt a need to send some loving thoughts out to people that have influenced me greatly both on their birthdays and death days. Most people think I'm a little odd for that, but my mother's side of the family is Mexican and I grew up celebrating El Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) and having a great respect for people that have passed over. I was never really afraid of death, but lots of people I know think it's creepy to pay respects on a person's "death" day. Ah well, lol, Halloween is one of my favorite (if not my favorite) holidays, so I guess I am a little ... kooky?
Also, if I remember correctly, certain peoples in the Carribean (Haiti if I'm not mistaken) welcome the birth of a child with an almost sad and mournful affair. When somebody dies, they celebrate and have festivities of joy. The logic for them is that you never know what awaits a child when they are born, and though it could be a life of great joy it could just as easily be a life of great suffering. They celebrate a person's death because they believe the after life is nothing to be afraid of and they are sure their loved ones are moving on to a better place. They see mourning for a death as selfish and that it may cause the recently deceased to have trouble moving on. I always thought that was a very interesting perspective.
