The author of "The Little Prince", Antoine de Saint-Exupery, his plane has been found on the Mediteranean seabed near the rugged cliffs of Provence. His plane vanished in the night on July 31, 1944, when he was 44 years old. The plane pieces were found 100-300 feet below the surface, and less than 3 miles from the coast. The key find was a tail piece bearing a tiny serial #, 2734 L, the same as Saint-Exupery's. His plane was a Lockheed Lightning P-38. I read about this in my local newspaper but I found a link on I-net if anyone is interested; Story at CBS News IP: Logged |
