First off, I would like to personally apologize to those of you who have been experiencing an increase in your pop up ads and a slowing down of your machines since you began participating in the Linda-chat experiment.

I chose the bravenet chat service because it was highly configurable and allowed for private chats between two participants.

Unfortunately, the people at bravenet are sleazebags or at least choose to act in a manner befitting sleazebags and so you have probably got more spyware and adware on your machines from visiting their site than you could shake a stick at.

If you are having these problems, please download an anti ad and spyware program called Adaware Here This program will help keep your computer spyware free.

Again, my sincere apologies for having exposed any of you to this disgusting practice. Trust should not be rewarded with betrayal, and yet inadvertently, that is what I have done. (paras, it seems your warnings were vindicated.)

The linda-chat.tk site has been redirected to an ABSOLUTELY spyware free site where we can still chat in peace. No, it's not as slick, no it's not as configurable, but it is safe and you will NOT be getting annoying popup crap on your computer if you come to this site.

I am so sorry for any inconvenience that I may have caused you wonderful people and I hope that you will continue to use this chatroom to communicate with and reach out to one another.

Love,

daf

P.S. I will be setting up a site on my own webspace as SOON as I can manage to figure out how.

bravenet is not the only site installing software on your computer without your permission. It is a very common practice among the ethically challenged companies on the internet.

There are programs which can protect your from these intrusions.

Think of Adaware, McAffee and Norton as penicillin for the VD that your computer can become infected with.

There are other programs out there which act as virtual prophylactics for your computer. One of these can be found and downloaded here:

IE-Spyad

This program should keep most of the crap from ever getting installed on your PC.

Love,

daf
