About a month ago I felt soooo connected with the vibrations of everything around me. Now I don't. What happened? Is there anything I can do to get back in touch?
Also could anyone reccomend an EXELLENT CD or tape with very specific guided body relaxation. I seem to fall asleep before I'm totally relaxed, and I can't get into a meditative state. Any practice tips on letting go of the ego during meditation?
Help! Thanks for any advice.

So long as you think you have an "ego" how will you ever let it go?

CatsandDogs,
Just before you posted your comment, I had a chat with a priest in my complex about the same thing. He said the real key is not knowing you have an ego...
That's a tall order, I consider my ego pretty small but doesn't everyone have one?
Wasn't your ego involved in posting that response? No offense, just inquiring.

If you don't know you have something, how can you master it?

It is not about denial and letting it go. it's about acceptance. Daf, was totally right, you embrace it. You know it's there however, it's not the greater presence in your life.

What you resist, persists.

Ego - The self part of the mind that has a sense of individuality, self esteem.

Where did Daf post that? I think I understand what you are saying, my intuition knows it's correct, but the intellect is struggling, can you be more specific about it's not the greater presence in your life.

Oh, wait, since everything and thought is made of particles, and always moving and interconnected, then my ego, consciousness, and physical body are all just "Out there" and not really part of who I am, only if I recognize that it's mine does it affect me. Am I on the right track, or do I sound like I need help. How would you put something like this into practice?

Was my "ego" involved in posting that?
You mean like "Ain't I smart!"
Yeah, that's probably somewhat true but nonetheless most everything that's ever occurred to me about "how it is" has been brought to my attention in some form or another and ofttimes from other people, so I figure it's all good.

Everything, and I do mean everything is an illusion. From a vantage point within the illusion of course it seems real. So the others are right and that's what I meant too. No use trying to figure it out or wondering how to do it, just accept that it's all illusion no matter how strong an illusion and then you get past it without any extra effort. The greatest question ever posed, of course, is just who and what is it that is past it???Sheesh, is there any end? Nice chatting at ya!!!

Hello CatsandDogs,
My questions have been nothing but sincere. I don't know what you mean by "Ain't I Smart". Perhaps I'm not ready for the info you are giving me, I don't really understand your last line. Yhe illusion part, I'm getting.
Thanks

Philbird,

Judging by your responses your ego seems to be in a very healthy place. Stop putting yourself down though. If you give it to much attention it becomes primary in your life.

It's human. Don't think about it too much. Your energy goes where your attention flows. I think the thread was near, or perhaps, on the one that was closed down. I think it is also mentioned on my thread "A message of Faith" on Free For All three pages down.

Gia, Do I sound like I'm putting myself down? I thought I was admitting I don't know something and need more info to grasp a concept. Well anyway what do you think of the book "Quantum Consciousness" by Stephen Wolinsky. It's more about psychology than "Physics". It's a good read!

Hey, I hope my saying that didn't upset you Philly. I get that impression sometimes. I said it only to illustrate that you often know more than you let on. Remember what you said to me the first time you posted? Well I think you know quite a bit in the metaphysical sense!

I'll email in a few days.

Lots of as always,
Gia.

Oh, goodie, Egret Mail! I just looked at our postage stamps and there are egrets on them! Hmmm
I'll use blue smilies when I feel offended, I wasn't offended, just questioning.
