I seriously love bagels. I just rarely eat them. I lived in NYC for 13 years. My favorite was an 'everything' bagel with cream cheese and lox!

Let's make a deal this time to stay with the plan
All that is needed is one leap of faith
Everything else will fall into place

Horrah!!! Another bagel fan!! I'm pretty sure Stacey is on the bandwagon, too. So that's 4 apostles to the new ''Bagelism'' we are starting. Too bad none of us are rich pop stars, we could be like Madonna and open up our own Bagelist primary school in NYC...

tee hee....

Oh, Paras, BTW, I'm e-mailing you my adress so I can see these pics everyone was raving about. I NEED to get my azz in gear and post some of me. Waiting for some from my holiday, mum is going to put em online for me (she has the negs), and then I'll actually put a face to all these twitterpated posts!! Oh, and let the Bagelites see their leader...hahahaha

Welcome to the Bagel Shop, BloodRed. BTW, What's 'lox'? Only LOX I ever heard of did the video for "The Benjamins" with Puff Daddy. And I somehow don't think they'd make a good bagel topping. :P~~~

What superb timing. I was just watching the video, and then I see that it has been brought to the top.
I like squirrels (and bagels) But I am non-conformist, I am a radical bagel eater, and I refuse to join a bagel eating club/clan/group/organization/cult.
But thank you!
I like 'em cheesy cheesy creamy cheesy too.

Pixie,
We shall not only eat bagels, they shall be our way of life. Live like the bagels do, circular, round, eternally looping and embracing nothing and everything. They shall be our symbol of peace and unity....like all circles i.e. zodiac wheels, dreamcatchers, hoop earrings and bowls, the bagel will represent to us the world, and all our chosen bagelangelists shall spread the word as though they were spreading strawberry or chive creamy cheesy creamy cheese....

I don't know why I'm so silly tonight, must be one of those days.... oh, and it is one in the morning.

Well.. I am drawn to circles and roundness..... so maybe I will attend a meeting or two.
I'll bring the bagels... what about donuts? They're round.... but they make you round too....... hmmmm.......
I'll bring the lifesavers.
MMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....
CHEESE Lifesavers....
Why am I so wonky tonight? Oh yeah.... cuz I'm me.

Bagels? Hmmmmmm... let me see.

My bestest bagel is a sesame seeded one. It's toasted lightly and spread with butter and blueberry jam. Noticed I said jam and not jelly? Jelly is so different. Jelly just wiggles on a plate, mate.

Which came first, the jelly or the jam?
Any theorems?

I love "everything" bagels toasted with butter. Sometimes cream cheese, but usually just butter... or plain and just warmed in the microwave.

Mmmmm...Bagels..I love them and I never worry about the carbs ( I would rather cut them from other sources)

My favorite is Poppy Seed - lightly toasted so the inside is still really soft and moist with Light Philly Cream Cheese: Onion and Chive flavor.

I can eat just about any kind, pumpernickel, plain, egg or sesame - but I don't like sweet bagels

Hmmm, not so fond of Lox though. If I eat late (like sometimes I forget to eat so a bagel is handy) I will put a piece of honey ham or turkey on each slice..IF I want to go all out, I will put a tomato on the toasted bagel and melt swiss on top Yummmmmmy!!!

MMM sounds good Pooh Pooh

I love to do something similar but with tomato, peperoni, and mozzarella mmmmmmm almost like pizza, but just a smidge better for you and SUPER yummy.

I don't like sweet bagles either... any kind of sweet bread for that matter.

LOL...Bread is my weakness.. I LOVE..and I mean I LOVE fresh hot sourdough..OMG..it just melts in your mouth!!!

Sweets really aren't my thing unless I am really in the mood. I do make the exception for Flan and Pan Dulce. I love Mexican sweetbread and whenever I am with my dad we hit the Mexican bakery. LOL... you should have seen us in Phoenix right before he moved out here..he was like "Okay kid, today's mission is to find the Supermercado and make sure they sell the right chorizo and refried beans as well as the panderia..LOL..bakery..

I can't WAIT to move back out west!!! Yeeeehaaaaaa...LOL..

Chorizo!!! I craved that stuff like a mad woman when I was pregnant with my oldest.

Chorizo con huevos .. that's almost all I ate. Growing up in the LA area made me a connoisseur of poor Mexican food

Poor?...OMG..did she say..Pooor? LOL...

Chorizo is a staple and has always been a staple at my house now and growing up LOL..it is my FAVORITE dish in the world (Beef chorizo- not pork) but I can't get decent chorizo out here - not the Cacique kind that I love so much.

I grew up eating a variety of foods - Chorizo in eggs, Fideo, Papas in eggs...then my granny would make country fried chicken, Krautberocks (sp is terrible..I can't remember how to spell them) She was full blooded German and grew up in Kansas.

Needless to say, I had an odd existance living in Orange County. I still remember when our OC neighbors thought my father was our gardener (He has a green thumb and being AI / Spanish they assumed he was a worker bee). Now he..he is cool as a cucumber, he just played right along. Then when they saw him pull out of the garage in his Porsche..well they just kind of blushed and let it go.

Now, he is the best at grilling anything and cooking - Cappy sun / Cancer moon / Cappy rising..funny dude he is. LOL..Mr. Taurus is a close second at grilling - I am impressed - he made Chorizo and eggs for me when I was out in Tucson last time - but he used egg beaters? WTF...when we had dinner with my dad I was like 'Hey dad...this white boy used egg beaters" My dad rolled his eyes..."Aye..those whities have problems cooking" LOL..

It's an inside joke because my mother is white and my bro and I are halfers and my father is married to a white lady and so is my bro. We just like to play with it. Just like my Taurus likes to kid me for having the Kraut, Apache and Spanish temper.. hee hee...

Hey LS how long did you live in So cal? You lived in AZ too didn't you? Hauchuca city right or near there. It is so funny how our paths have crossed..

Since you call me Pooh pooh I must find a name for you...

Hmmm, Libra-Sparkle Bum...that sound a bit too long..I will think of something though

Um....mexican food....drool....

How I miss it so!! When I lived in Pasadena, I used to go to El Cholo at least once a week. They had these FAB quesadillas with mushrooms, sweet corn, jack and cheddar cheese, quacamole (the REAL stuff), salsa (again, homemade), and this sweet chilli sauce over the top. Also amazing empanadas and the tasties tortillas fresh out of the oven to munch while waiting for your appetizer.... there is NO good mexican food where I live now. I have, however, introduced my boy and his family to fajitas and turkey tacos.... we make them all the time, which is awesome!!! Never a goddess in the kitchen before, but now it's become my staple meal... oh, the smell of grilling peppers, onions, and mushrooms with cayanne and cumin wafts out the window, and passersby drool........ now I want a veggie fajita with refried beans and ''dirty'' rice......

Bagel of the day:
sesame (again) toasted to perfection with my good ol' Philly light...

Oh, and the veggie borrittos with rice, beans, gooey melted cheese, and sour cream....

Darn it, Pidaua and Libra Sparkle, now I can't stop the craving.... looks like mexi-dish tonight!!!

Heyyy, I love Mexican food too! I make burritos often.

Once again, onion with cream cheese.

"You know why? Because I need a bagel. And you know I need a bagel. With the creamy cheese and the cheesy cream-ah"

I am hopelessly addicted to Foamy cartoons. I downloaded every single one from the official page, then scoured the web for more. I have 46 already. And I need moooooore....

Ghani,

I know what you mean!! I LOVE the smell of Mexican food cooking, especially the smell of garlic being sauteed...It reminds of me of home and being at by Abuelas, watching her make homemade tortillas and papas-n-eggs.

Sorry you all don't have any fine Mexican places out there. I was struggling when I first came out here because there isn't a high Mexican or Tex-mex population out here. The foods of El Salvador and Guatamala and much different than what I am used too and most of this Hispanics here are of that descent. BUT..I have found they have great little grocery stores.

Paras..what are foamy cartoons?

NOOOOOO!!!! I awoke this morning to find my very last bagel had gone missing. ''Where on earth did my bagel go?'' I asked myself. I searced all over the counters, in the fridge, and then even (oh, God, please no) the garbage. No bagel to be found anywhere. I put my thinking cap on and scoured the kitchen for some clues. Then I found it.... a trail of crumbs looking suspiciously like those of a bagel, and a few stray sesame seeds. I followed the trail down the hall way, and noticed that not only was it strange that a trail of crumbs would exist (this isn't Hansel and Gretel, ya know), but that the culprit was very messy, and would get a wollup from me as soon as they were discovered (am anal retentive about being clean). The trail turned out to lead into my own room!! ''How can this be?'' I asked myself, as I slowly pushed open the door, a hairbrush ready to strike should the bagel-napper attack. There, toasted perfectly and smothered in my creamy cheesy cream cheese, was my last bagel. And it was for me!! Mr. Libra had made it for me while I was in the shower!! The day was saved!! And the bagel was delicious!!

Just thought I'd share!
Ghani
