The Sun is the central point of a horoscope, just as it is the center of our solar system. It is the symbol of the Self. It represents the conscious will: what we seek to achive in order to satisfy ourselves and our likely methods of acheiving those goals. It is the basis of our personality -- other planetary energies refine this basic personality into a unique and individual pattern, but can never completely overshadow it. It is our rational and conscious motivations, the counterpart of the Moon's emotional and instinctive motivations.IP: Logged |

I agree, paras...except when it's located in the 12th house. That placement tends to suppress the solar energy, making it more of a subconscious motivator. Actually any planet deposited in the 12th can be difficult to 'tap into', simply because the 12th IS the deep subconscious...It's possible we want to disregard their energies because of bad experiences with them in past lives. n/p, paras Pluto in the 12th, huh...? I think it means you might be nuts! just kidding. I found this little blurb on that placement for you, it's mearly one person's interpretation on it. I find it very difficult to interpret anything '12th house' with much focus and clarity, which really is quite appropriate for such a vague and 'sans boundries' energy. I've been trying to get a handle on it for a while now, because I have Neptune in the 12th in my own chart. It's a mind-boggler placement, I'm telling ya! Anyhoo...from http://www.geocities.com/rbltre/astro/plhouse.html#12th quote:
Pluto in the 12th House: You're capable of deep meditation and understanding occult mysteries, enabling you to regenerate your unconscious mind by bringing its contents to the consciousness. You have highly developed intuitive powers and, if well aspected, profound insight, clairvoyance, sympathy and the capacity to improve the situation of those less fortunate. Although you understand others' limitations, mental preoccupation with your own problems often results in an inability to get along in work because you disregard others' ideas and viewpoints. Your unconscious telepathic sensitivity to others' motivations, thoughts and feelings may cause you to withdraw or seclude yourself to avoid these or to take secret actions based on this information against those you dislike. You need to change your inner attitude, but you're reluctant to change the course of your life. Until you do, you feel the mental and/or physical pain from obscure or unidentified sources. If afflicted, you may have treacherous secret enemies, neurotic problems or be subject to destructive psychic forces and if heavily afflicted, you may have deep-rooted psychological disorders. If well aspected, you can make positive use of your subconscious. You work best behind the scenes.
And this is an interesting interpretation too. quote:
Pluto in the 12th: In your prior life, you misused your psychic gifts to dominate others. Most likely, you practiced witchcraft or used hypnotism to control and instill fear. This time, the karmic fear of unleashing your inner power is so deep that you may allow yourself to be victimized without putting up any resistance. KARMIC LESSON: Channel your passionate energies into creative projects, exercise or therapy. Accept that all humans have the capabilities of great emotions, some of which can be destructive. Inner peace comes with facing your fears, asserting yourself and transforming negative energy into positive endeavors.
