.. about the whole thing on Unicorns?? I pulled this thread up in UC & thought I'd bring it here for most of the traffic to see.

It's an amazing thread originally posted by trippysht in 2002.. interesting & baffling for those who;

1. Are unaware of anything negative about Unicorns
2. Have read Gooberz & Starsigns & it didn't stand out!
3. !

It was originally in UC, so up to you where to reply

Hi Sheaa...I read through that thread and I'm a little surprised at the response. Unicorns are considered to be largely mythological creatures, so there are no true facts concerning them. There are only legends, which are as varied as the cultures from which they come. There is no need to become hysterical or fearful of the unicorn.

Someone saw a unicorn move on a poster. Well, lots of us as children were afraid of what lurked in the closet or under the bed, our imaginations saw all sorts of things that may or may not have been real.
But its such a faulty equation: Things that move in posters are Bad. A Unicorn moved in posters. Ergo, Unicorns are Bad.
Lots of Unicorns were considered magical and powerful.

Hey Trillian, yeah me too The responses startled me since I was only aware of Unicorns as being beautiful, mythological creatures.. and never felt anything bad.
With Linda's strong opinion as viewed & raised in the UC link, coupled with the Lexi - I thought I'd missed something big there!

Do you remember the film, 'The Last Unicorn'? It was one of my favourites as a child, I must see it in again; http://utd500.utdallas.edu/~hairston/lastunicorn.html

Thanks for the link - I got the Alice quote from it!;

quote:
"...Well, now that we have seen each other," said the Unicorn, "If you'll believe in me, I'll believe in you."

Off the top of my head, I don't remember "The Last Unicorn," but I'll visit your link.

I've always been fond of Unicorns. And loved the film with Tom Cruise, and Tim Curry played the devil. Ahhhh, what was it called? It's not that it was a great movie, but it was visually yummy and the Unicorns were beautiful...

Oh - oh.. *EDIT*

Yep - after conferring, it's Legend..!?! Ah I remember really wanting to see that and didn't for some reason - I was about 8 when it came out so I probably wasn't allowed to or something - I know it was a PG right?!

Cool something else to look up!
