On my way home from shopping in Columbia tonight, a deer decided that suicide was a good option and my front fender was the perfect instrument. "Not happy!!!" It busted up the front right fender pretty good, dented in the hood, and tore up my light (but it does still work, YAY!!) My car still runs (double YAY!!) and neither my son or I were hurt. (Thank the Lord)

The worst thing about living in the middle of nowhere this time of year is the deer. I apologize to all animal lovers for this next comment, but "When does deer season start?"

Watch the road all

I had 14 of them in my yard last night. They are so cute to watch. It was a family and the babies had spots on them still. We are not allowed to harm the deer, turkey's, lions, or any other wildlife in our community. I try and drive slowly because you never know. I'm glad you were not hurt. Sorry about the car though. I used to get angry before we fenced because the deer would eat everything in sight. Now it's not so bad. They go to our nearest neighbour instead!

Hey LittleLadyLeo,

I hit a deer last year with my front fender also and had to get a new hood for my car. The deer totem is my ally and that means to me, as a reminder to slow down in life and be more gentle with mys-elf. More caring and giving to mys-elf and not to be so afraid.

Today I was feeling alittle insecure and sarced about life and way was I feeling this way and then I seen two young deers crossing my path just up the road from my house.

I then thanked my guides for the life symbol and then what along my way in a much gentler manner then before. Deer can be a good thing if we listen to the signs and symbols of life.

Oh, I admit deer can be good, and I truly do love the creatures, just not when they step in front of my car. It's also a little harrowing when you remember that more fatal accidents in Missouri each year are due to deer than anything else.

IE - At least I didn't blow a tire!

I'm from Maine, so you see deer there all the time. I always hated driving at night down the country roads when you never knew what could jump out in your path. We used to have a public service announcement on tv about how to survive when you hit a deer. Goes to show how many accidents happen each year due to them, that they have to put a ''how to avoid death by deer'' segment on television. There is something worse than hitting a deer, hitting a moose. They have such thin, brittle legs and heavy bodies, when you hit a moose, it just rolls right up onto your windshield. Very few people come out of a moose collision unharmed. But we must remember, our roads are carved through their habitats, so we must exercise caution when driving through a wooded area or a field. It's not their fault they don't recognize a huge, shiny metal thing coming towards them as a danger.

Glad you weren't hurt.

Glad you're okay. Deer make awful dents in cars. They're pretty solid.

People hit deer around here (well... a bit east of here near the Washougal River) all the time. The really do a number on your car.

Might be a good idea to see a Chiropractor, sweetness, just in case you have some stuff out of place. Plus, I just love the Chiropractor... and think EVERYONE should go.

Mine has one of those drop down tables. I love it there!

My father was a practising chiropracter for 14 years before joining the ministry, LS. And he only lives a block and a half away. Pop takes care of more ailments than I care to admit. My son hates the sound my neck makes when Granpa goes to work, but I can't imagine not letting him do it. You're right, chiropractics is great. (And it can take care of a lot more than just aches and pains.) Thanks for the thought.
