What has happened here?

Do you know what? I am sick right now. My family had it last week... and I felt it coming on.. been trying to rest up. I had practice last night and it went okay, I tried not to strain my voice. just took it easy and sung falcetto on the high parts, instead of 'giving 'er' like I usually would.
I woke this morning with a super sore throat anyway. I have another practice tonight... and we perform on Saturday.
Hopefully. I can't even tell you how worried I am about it. I usually nail it ontage.

I'd love to show you our stuff, A.J. and everyone, I wish I could... the best I can do for now, is show you pictures.
PLEASE wish me luck for saturday.
I am soooooooo worried about my voice. As long as I start getting sick on Sunday instead of now.. or it goes quickly.. *throat things never do *sigh*

*that's why have been on line here more recently, I am 'resting'. Not full fledged sick, but definately sick.

Lovely Pixie, do you have a purple plate for your throat?

Lots of warm honey and lemon juice. Makes a yummy hot tea. A little cayenne in there would do a throat a lot of good, too.

Thanks.. I actually don't have a purple plate. I was ready to find one after reading Star signs *In 1997* But I assumed they weren't being made anymore, and then come here to see they are.. I wouldn't know where to find one, as I don't buy things online.
But I will definately do the lemon honey thing. Hot drinks really do soothe.
Cayenne? Hmmmmm.. maybe. Although, the last time I had a bite of my friends' hot wing, I started singing and it was not pretty, I could feel my throat burning... * I don't do well with hot.. spices, yes.. but hot? No.....

Pixie, I'll tell you what I do when I have a sore throat. I get a piece of cotton cloth, soak it in moonshine or grappa or snapps (we have a great very strong version of these drinks in Bulgaria) and then tie it around your throat. Put a plastic bag or anything that will do a sauna effect on top of the cloth. The idea is to heat up the alcohol so it evaporates and penetrates the sore spot/ tonsils. Keep the cloth on overnight.
You are going to stink like an alcoholic if you decide to do this but it always works for me - it might work for you too.

You could gargle with Apple Cider Vinegar! Don't swallow though.
You could also drink the alcohol, get a buzz and not care what your voice sounds like! That was interesting though Yin.
