Sorry guys but I just need to vent a little.

For some reason, driving to work this morning was hell for me... You know how media everywhere always talk about the aggressive drivers? Well, I actually want to talk to you guys about the complete opposite. The slow pokes!

Here are my pet peeves - Freeway driving:
1. Drivers who think that if they are running the Maximum allowed (100km/hour) on the freeway/highway, that they just SIT on the passing lane (left lane). HELLO!!! If the people on the driving lane (right lane) are PASSING you by coz you are NOT driving to the speed of traffic, DON'T YOU THINK YOU SHOULD MOVE OVER TO THE DRIVING LANE? The rule of thumb is: IF YOU ARE NOT PASSING ANOTHER CAR, GET OFF THE PASSING LANE!

2. Drivers who uses their brake lights like Christmas lights. I know it's Christmas time, but come on! There's 30 feet of space between you and the car in front of you, don't press your brakes. Worse yet, don't press your brakes when the car on the other lane brakes! You are NOT going to hit it!

3. Drivers who speeds up to jump in front of you and then SLOW down! If you can't keep consistent with the speed that the other lane is running at, DON'T get on that lane!

4. Drivers who cuts through 3 lanes of the highway because they are missing their exit! HEY, there are OTHER exits, you know?

5. Drivers who SLOWS DOWN to look at an accident ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD! This is why we have soooo much heavy traffic on the roads. People are so nosey! MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS PEOPLE!

6. Drivers who are TOO BUSY TALKING ON THE PHONE to drive! Same token, female drivers who think they can put on their make-up while driving, AND, eat at the same time!

7. Drivers who are sooo scared on the freeway, that they drive super slow. I am talking like 60-80 km/hour on the freeway. Guys, if you are scared, GET OFF THE FREEWAY!

8. Drivers who tailgates, not just another car, but a huge tractor/trailer! Man! Speaking of idiot moves. If that truck ever does a hard stop, you will be flattened in less than one second!

9. Drivers who forget to turn their Headlights on, even at night. Geez, wheren't you paying attention when this was taught in driving school? CHECK YOUR CAR BEFORE YOU PULL OUT OF YOUR DRIVEWAY! Check your mirrors and your gauges (if you have to squint to see your gauges, chances are, you NEED to turn on your headlights). AND if someone is beaming their headlights at you, they are trying to tell you something, they are not just winking at you coz you look beautiful! Check your lights!

10. General rule when switching lanes, speed up if you are going to the passing lane, and slow down when you are going to the exit lanes. Drivers often forget that the other lanes are running faster / slower than they are and while merging, would either be running too fast or running too slow for the upcoming traffic.

On this note, I wish everyone a safe driving, especially through the holiday season.

heheh... i'm a bit iof a road rager too...

my peeve today is people that put on their indicator to come into my lane... and they have more than enough space... but... they want a freaking red carpet invitation to actually enter!!!

MOVE!!! YOU INDICATED, YOU HAVE THE SPACE, JUST MOVE!

if i'm feeling really b*tchy and they carry on like this a bit too long, i close the gap.

it irks me cause i can't figure out when they're going to actually make the lane change! So i have to watch their stupid @sses until they actually do, ugh!

You sound like my fiance...lol

To defend the drivers who are a bit scared to drive the freeway..... What about new drivers? Of course they are going to be scared the first couple times they drive on the freeway. However they have to drive on the freeway so that they can be confident enough. Also you cant get to ALL places by using back roads so even if the scared people do want to stay off the freeway they cant because its the only way to get where they are going.

Sorry for ranting, everyone... Just that I met 7 really bad drivers on the road this morning on my way to work. A little bit too much for too early in the morning.

I myself did not go on the freeway until after I am confident enough (3+ years of driving on local roads).

Maybe it is different in the States, but in Canada, you can pretty much get to where you want to go within the Metropolitan area without having to use the freeway.

If you are a new driver, it is my opinion that you are not in any shape to drive anywhere where the freeway is your only option. It is not only dangerous for you, you are also putting others in danger of your driving.
