Hi... Who reads them? Are they anywhere to having sappy undertones like the historical romance novels I usually read by Jude Deveraux, Catherine Coulter, and Barbra Delinsky? Are they as suggestively graphic? Do vampire romance novels involve in more violence or domination than a typical romance novel? I'm wildly curious, for reasons I am unable to discuss right now... ------------------ -K "Most people love with restraint As if they were someday to hate We hated gently, carefully As if we were someday to love"-Venus Trines at Midnight IP: Logged |

I definately wouldn't say 'sappy' so much as highly stylized and passionate. I have read a few vampire erotica novels, which I found to be increddibly fantasy fueled and physically titalating. Not so much on the emotional level, but certainly one that will make your hairs stand on end... ''Love in Vein'' and ''Love in Vein II'' were both very interesting. Ghani IP: Logged |

Marcia,I've read all of Anne's stuff, but I wouldn't call them 'romance novels' as such, but you are right, she is amazing. Her imagery and imagination astound me with each novel I read. My favorite so far has to be ''Blood and Gold: The Story of Marius''. Simply breathtaking. Pidaua, The second one of those books (they are both collecitons of short vamp erotica stories) has this beautiful story called ''The Dripping of Sundered Wineskins''. If you can pick this one up, let me know what you think. I was seriously considering adapting that story into a screenplay... Ghani IP: Logged |

I suppose you're right. In my opinion, though every image and every word is so sensual, romantic and sexy.IP: Logged |

Hi Ghani, I will pick the books up..I have an Barnes and Noble credit card which gives me gift certificates depending on how much I spend (LOL...I'm a geek). So, I plan on picking them up when I get back from vacation. I told Mr. Taurus about the Vampire erotica and his eyeballs got huge..he said "Hmmm...what made you think of that?" Hee hee.... Marcia,
I have to agree with Ghani on the Anne Rice deal. I love her books and she is one of my favorite authors but I would call her Vampire Chronicles more of Historical Vampire novels with a semi-romantic plot. But she does give some yummmmmmy descriptions. IP: Logged |

I love Anne Rice too. I agree that her books aren't romantic novels, but they are quite sensual.I really love the theology in Memnoch the Devil. I left off on Armand. I've really gotta finish them! IP: Logged |
