Type 1 civilisation type ones are planetary,meaning they are able to exploit all the energy falling on its planet from the sun. They could derive limitless hydrogen from the oceans and even control the weather.

Type 2 civilisation They can control the energy output of the sun which is 10 billion times the power of type 1 civilisation. Type 2s could be immuned to ice ages, meteors, even supernovas.

Type 3 civilisation they are capable of controlling and consuming the output of an entire galaxy. They would derive energy by extracting it from billions of stars and black holes. The aliens from the movie, Independence Day, qualify to be type 3s.

Where do we fit in, you might wonder?
Well, i am sorry to say but we are only type 0 civilisation, deriving our energy from oil and coal. BUT not is all doom and gloom. We can quickly evolve to type 1 in a century or so.

I read this in the Popular Mechanics magazine and I find it interesting. I
thought you guys would be too.
