Has anyone been to a psychic and had the psychic tell them they need to remove a curse/dark aura etc.., and then try to get you to pay an exorbitant amount of money? Some lady did that to me today, she was a complete fraud and knew little that was insightful, other than pretty clear observations...i guess this is how they make their money

wow. please tell us more.
I went to a palm reader, after reading about it myself, and she was sooooo off. Just ridiculous.
Then I went to another guy (it was a psychic fair-type thing) and he was great. Way to waste ten bucks, but it was a learning experience, and that one came cheap!!!!

Ya mine unfortunately was 40 bucks, you got off easy! Now i have the stomach flu, the curse is coming true aaaaaaaah!

This lady was using some weird tarot deck with cards like abundance and consciousness and other such cards...

What did your accurate reader say and what method did she use?

Ah, it was just palm reading.
He said I was a serial killer and that I would die when I was 23 after taking out all the bank deposits from a brinks truck, and that someone who was wearing the colour chartreuse is important to me and they smelled like berries, which would drive me over the edge as I have a hate-on for berries and then I would enroll in clown college *after I died of course* and the clown followers idolized me and then I would be frozen in suspended animation cryogenically and would sit in a cigar shops window to scare potential customers.

So you see, It was very accurate.
Naw, I can't remember.

So did you ever find out the name of that movie? I am sooooo insanely curious, my big-unit-ed friend.

I always pick Tarot cards for my reading- because I read Tarot cards

I also try to find out what deck they are using- even if it is off from what I use, I have a photographic memory so I memorize the spread. Then, being the skeptic that I am, I look it up at home with my own books and websites.

There has been a couple of times when someone has tried to use that "curse" crap. It's a hoax and it normally done by those of the "gypsy" community. You know, the drive by "Palm reading" stores / houses you see. I had a friend convince me we needed to check one out. The lady had a filthy house, with kids running around and a little ugly reading room. I was not impressed.

But, like Pixie said, the ones you see at the Psychic fairs or even the Ren festival (there was a great group at the one in Maryland). They are usually right on in giving some great insights.

So my advice is to stick with what you know. If you are an avid Rune reader, palm reader, tarot reader..etc..it will be easier because you will a base knowledge of what is up.

Hope that helps

I went to a psychic awhile back and she told me I had a really nice aura. There was no darkness in it. It was rainbow, blue and purple. If she told me I had darkness in it maybe I wouldve thought the same as you. I dont know. This lady may just be a fraud looking to scare you into thinking you have a curse or darkness in your aura so you will give her more money to "remove" it. Or maybe there is a little darkness in your aura. Could it be that she wasnt lying? Your intuition will tell you the truth. Most of us do have holes and blockages and a little darkness in our auras and chakras. It's quite common. But I would go to a reputable healer for something like that. And there are ways you can cleanse and protect your aura on your own. But then, the fact that she wanted you to pay a large sum of money to remove it, kind of tells you right there what she was out for.

I believe the lady I went to was for real because of some other things she said that are just now coming to light. I thought I knew some of the things she told me about awhile back but I see more clearly now, what she meant in a different way. I had them all wrong before. I thought I was recognizing people and things she mentioned but I see that some of them were not the ones she was actually talking about. It's pretty mind-blowing. And I do hope what she said is right and that I'm seeing it correctly now. I'm not living my life by what she said though. If it happens, it happens. And only if it is meant to.

Did anything she said ring a bell of truth with you?

I had my palm read a year and a half ago on the boardwalk of Atlantic City. She was weird, but somewhat accurate. My mom was with me, and she told my mom that she sensed three children in our family. I'm the only one! THEN she told me that I will marry a man with the initials of T.S. and he'll probably be a Capricorn. The Cap thing was all I agreed with, lol.

Some are complete frauds, I saw a great episode of Dr. Phil with a women who was defrauded $30,000. The women used the old "Curse" scam, it's very common.

Pixie: i never found out the name of that movie, damnit! I just gave up....altho I just saw Spirited Away today and it was stunning

Pid: I think we share a strong skepticism in common, thanks for the anecdote.. I once went to a great numerologist who had my personality down, I'm gonna try not to let this lady turn me off to psychics

Taurus: A couple things she said did, but they were pretty obvious things like "you've had hurt in the past" (duh), and "you feel like you give a lot but don't get much" (MOST feel like this). I've seen my own aura as have others, its dark dark blue, i just have a dark aura...I think its more my nature than anything else. If i was going to be healed I'd go to a reputable reiki or chakra master, not this woman, she didn't make eye contact much with me and seemed very insecure about her abilities.

Ahhh, I see. Yep, sounds like a fraud. That sucks. What a waste of time and money.
I'm glad you arent letting this experience turn you off to all psychics though.

Well where do you live? I'm attuned to second degree Reiki. I'll come over and heal that dark curse from you!

BTW, having a dark blue or indigo aura is a very good thing. That's cool that youve seen it. I've seen mine a few times and I'm trying to be able to see them more regularly.

Very skeptical here, also... (Merc in Taurus?)

One of my very near dear friends happens to be very psychic (a subject for another string, want you guys to get a look at her chart -stellium in 12th house incl sun) but she's frighteningly right on with me. As an empath as I am sometimes we see things together - (I supply emotional details and she can supply visual images) But it would be hard for me to trust someone off the street....

IMO your guide will come to you - (and there will be other connections along with) STAY skeptical otherwise, lots of nasty energy out there with its own agenda....

Taurus: I live in California, where do you live? Do you have formal reiki training?

Delerious: I have a stellium in the 12 house as well, sun conj merc conj neptune, i'm not sure I believe in psychics, maybe just extremely high intuition/pattern recognition. This lady definitely had a dark agenda, i could feel negativity oozing out of here, her posture and mannerisms.

I feel that the most valuable spirit guides are the voices within...although outside guides can be useful for a jostle, the greatest epiphanies ultimately have to come from the self

Can you do it on yourself? Although i don't really know much, I've had success with simply placing my hand on or floating above a sore/painful muscle...also when i run my hand above peoples bare backs, i can feel a tingle/twinge in certain places, and theres always a knot/pain in these places...

Yes, you can do it on yourself, animals, plants.

Sounds like you are a natural to me! We all have the ability, some are more naturally tuned into it than others - even without getting training. Though with training comes attunment from a Master. And you learn how to direct and apply it better. Even before I got trained and attuned I seemed to have the ability. When I do a treatment my hands get all red and swollen it's kind of cool because I know it's working. I have felt all different kinds of sensations in people and healed a skeptical friend's shoulder pain and my mothers back pain once almost instantly.

I find that animals LOVE Reiki. I've always been a huge animal lover and they have always loved me. I find they dont want to leave my side once I start with the Reiki on them. They soak it right up. Even the pets that are usually standoffish to people they dont know, come right to me.

Yes, when you feel those tingle/twingy sensations you know there is something going on there. That's very cool that you can feel this. You should think about getting trained in it. Usually the classes arent long. Each degree took me one weekend to get. About 17 hours each I believe. Reiki has become pretty mainstream now so you shouldnt have a problem finding a good teacher in your area.

Here's a great link you might want to explore: http://reiki.7gen.com/

Hey Blue,

I believe it was around $175. But this was years ago so I'm not completely sure. I'll look into what the going rate is nowadays.

Us sensitive handed healers are the best lovers arent we?

BlueRoamer, yes that same thing happened to me. It was when I moved out east. It was in the city of Philadelphia. I thought about that for years. I never went back and paid the extra money but I think she brainwashed me for a few years into thinking I had this unusual negative stuff in my aura. Karma will get her in the end....

Years ago, after a very traumatic time for my family ( The 'accidental death' of my seventeen year old cousin.) My uncle came on in for the funeral and had introduced Reiki to my mother and I. Transformative times breed more transformation of positives.....
She and I are both naturals. I don't really do it, unless someone expresses pain, then I will ask them if they'd like to feel better. My mother does it whether asked or not. I don't know about this..... sending positive vibes is one thing, but, it feels like a spiritual permission thing to me...
She has had Reiki training. I have just dabbled.. I am a more of a do-it-yourself-er.
It's really freaked people out.. my one friend at work was having back spasms, and I asked if she'd like me to spend five minutes with her, just to see.... she was skeptical, which I expect.. and I was trying to explain energy fields, and that everyone has them. She put her hand out so I could show her how to open yourself to the feeling... and I did focused circles between our finger tips, about two inches away. She pulled back, gave me a wierd look, and said " You are freaking me out."
So it makes a fun party game too.

Hmmm....that's odd and too bad that your friend got freaked out. On spiritual permission, that is always the way with reiki. It will never go where it is not wanted or needed. The person's consciousness in one way or another will accept the Reiki or not. It wont go if the person says no. Did your uncle attune both of you? Is he a Master or did he teach you some basics?
I'm more of a do-it-yourselfer too. But most people arent or dont care to know how. So that's when it comes in handy.

Sounds like the same experience I had seeing a palm reader. She said my aura was dark and energy was down. For $300 she would light some candles and say prayers. Everything would be wonderful after that, so said the psychic.

I said no thanks.

Hi Aphrodite! Light your own candles and say your own prayers, right?

Yeah 26, I mean, she thought it was neat.... but she looked at me really wierd, as she felt the energy. I was just showing her how everyone has it.....
My mother spent a few weeks with a Reiki Master.. is Master really the word? Well anyway, a practicing Reiki Healer. She said a lot of really negative things happened to her for those first weeks.... she was aware of it all. Atuned or not, she will always try to help..... that is her life lesson, I am sure of it.. helping others, at all costs.. even the expense of herself. I have toned down her spiritual gifts. Self preservation comes in there with me. My Uncle was living with a Reiki Master in California. All things are as they should be, it was the right time. I don't know about attune. He showed us abot it, then I took it from there. It felt right.. like I always knew. When you hear something and it resonates, you know its right.
One day it will mean more to me.. my path is a little rocky and I see it from a wierd point of view.. I am askew, and that's okay.
