Well it's coming up and I'm not too stoked about it, this will be the 18th consecutive year I spend V-Day alone. Does anyone else find it depressing, or am I just being too cynical?IP: Logged |

I hate Valentine's Day with a burning, fiery passion. It doesn't really have much to do with me being single, but with how I just feel it's ridiculous because I know people who use it as the one year to be nice to each other and pretend they actually love each other, and then be mean the rest of the year. For me it's just been another day. I've never had an extravagant Valentines Day. Even when I've been with a guy on the day, I dont think I've ever gotten anything special. It doesnt bother me though. It might be nice but I dont get all girly emotional or excited about it. I'd rather the romance be there throughout the relationship than faked out on one day.IP: Logged |

I think that unless you get taken out to dinner, wined and dined with a dozen roses, showered with jewlery and candy and lots of kisses, cards, and confetti, that you are a big fat loser on Valentine's Day. Okay, totally kidding. Valentine's day is lame, the way we celebrate it. Just like how we celebrate Thanksgiving, Easter, Christmas, and all the western holidays.. like we should only behave a certain way of feel certain things on that one day of the year... L-A-M-E. And I'm not bitter about it at all, it's just that you should not wait for that one day of the year to show someone you care. Ghani IP: Logged |

Totally agree. It's so sad to spend just one day of the year showing you care. Why? cause everyone else is doing it? You shouldn't be a sheep...show the person you're with that you care ALL year round. Then Valentine's Day can be a little treat not a " prove you love me " day. That's so negative and unnecessary for the relationship. IP: Logged |

Valentines day is a bit over rated. Actually my excitement for any holiday died with my grandmother unfortunatly. My fiance and I just usually buy the kids a present and some candy and thats about it. Im not the romantic type, so flowers, candy, and especially jewelry doesnt interest me. Well candy interests me but I dont get all sentimental when i get it...Im just like "ooooo...CHOCOLATE" However, the best thing about Valentines day is those little conversation hearts. I dont really like eating them, but its fun to make funny stories and poems out of them. IP: Logged |

I think Valentine's Day is an excuse for cowards to go ahead and confess how much they love someone and not be totally crushed by an unexpected response. Thats all .... rest is all just a gimmick(or an excuse for me to bake cookies for my Archer )!IP: Logged |

VTT - For the wise yet playful earthy influence in you ...I have Choco-chip with pecans and macadamia nuts, some perfectly shaped peanut butter and noughat and a few peanut butter cup ones. Whats your liking, love? (My Archer loves peanut butter, he never gets worked up over anything but when I heard him ramble abt the cookie he had the other day, I HAD to bake him some ... and then it became a ritual! Now every holiday gets a fresh batch of slightly charred but warm cookies full of carbs calories and lots and lots of love!) IP: Logged |

Mr.Aqua's birthday is on Valentine's Day, so I usually get to take him out to dinner. This year, though, he's taking ME out to dinner Which is very, very nice And no, Valentine is NOT his middle name, nor is it his first, or last.IP: Logged |
