I'm thinking of scraping together some of my poems as a manuscript so I can start submitting for possible publication. Any ideas on how to catergorize the poems, or if they should be categorized at all? What's a reasonable length, page-wise? Any formats that work better than others?

I'm open to any and all ideas, as there's this contest that requires submission not later than February 15th, and I thought it might be worth trying for...

I don't have any advice, but as a writer-in-training, I wish you the best of luck! And if you do find out anything, maybe you can let us know what worked for you. Are some of the poems you plan to submit posted in Yellow Wax?

Good luck in the contest! The only advice I can think of might be to double-space everything you submit. People seem to like that.

HEY, if ya'll want to help me pick out some of the poems to submit, I have postings on pages 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, and 1 of the Yellow Wax and the Ants forum

....(a grand total of 57)

If you get a chance, let me know which poems you think would be the clearest/most understandable expressions for others to judge by posting their titles here for me...

Hi VAA,

Have you contacted the contest organizers and asked them what the format requirements are for submissions?

If they are asking for electronic copies, I would highly recommend sending unalterable PDF files and get paper copies signed by a notary public.

Keep a paper trail.
