Who else loves Beck? I just found out he has a new CD. Anyone heard it?
I put a little bug in my honey's ear that this would be a nifty little v-day present... Beck's a groovy guy!

I agree, VTT... he's a doll! He looks like a lost little boy, and I just want to take him home and pet his shaggy little head!

LOVE BECK! I listened to Mellow Gold non-stop in high school. Oddly, I dont have any of his new albums though. Gotta pick some up. He rocks.

I can't wait to get my hands on this new one! As far as his newer stuff goes, the last two were (I believe) Midnight Vultures then Sea Change. These two couldn't be more different from one another. Lots of people didn't like Sea Change... it's very mellow and kind of monotone. Perfect for chillin out alone on a rainy day when you don't feel like leaving the couch.

This is what one review says for Guero, his new one: dark, dreamy collection of rock songs infused with a distinct Latin vibe.

The review is from Cosmo... (don't laugh! It's junk food for my brain!) But it sounds interesting! Also, they say he's gotten married and had a baby. Wow! I think that makes him even sexier... daddies are hot! However, stealing daddies is very not hot...

26T... here's the astro info I came up with:

sun-cancer
moon-virgo
asc-aries
mars-cancer
venus-leo

I was way off! I would have guessed some kind of pisces/aquarius configuration. I'm not real good at guessing these things, though, but I like to try!

OMG, he's my soulmate!!

(of course I dont know exact degrees here, but I'll pretend LOL)

Cancer Sun in my 7th.
Virgo Moon conj my Virgo Moon
ASC.....ehhhhh.....squares mine.
His Mars conj. my Jup.
His Venus conj. my Mars.

*I hear wedding bells!!!!*

Too bad he's married. You are right though. A good daddy is hot. A real man. Stealing daddies is VERY not hot though. LOL

You know I wouldve thought the same. He has a Piscean vibe to me too. Interesting.....

I'll have to pick up those albums! I think I'll get Midnight Vultures first. I have too much "mellow music" in my collection as it is.

for Sea Change. Just listened to it this morning (Also good for long drives on hungover mornings!) It's hard to choose a favorite... I think what I like best about Beck is that you can put in one of his CD's and kind of stay in one groove, but shift a bit within that. Does that make sense? Each CD has its own luscious flava!

26T... How nice that we've found our soulmates just in time for Valentine's Day! (A little Beck for you... some Ed for me...!)

Bummer!!! Well, that's not too far away at least.
It's about time I pick up a new CD. I know what the next one will be.

My fav by far is Mellow Gold. Particularly the song F**kin' With My Head, and Truckdriving Neighbors Downstairs. Odelay is my second favorite.

Thanks for the link, Prox. I could get to the site, but couldn't get the song to play. But I did find this link if anyone else is having a similar problem.

My first taste of the new CD! I'm grinning from ear to ear. One more day, Beck fans!

I picked it up a couple of days ago, "Guero" i love Beck. He is truly unique. Track 2 is a blast.. reminds me of both 50's rythym meets 80's tech meets 60s hipster groove.

Even if you don't particularly care for his music, you almost have to respect his song-writing ability and arrangement.. his last album broke me in half.

~it was that moving.
