Lately meditation comes easier for me....but after about 10-15 minutes it grows so intense that I have to end it. Sometimes I feel like theres another presence near me, not necessarily god, but other presence....I do feel god as well.....I don't think the presences are bad, I just get extremely creeped out and have to end the medtation.....other times i jsut grow incredibly fearful for no reason and have to end it...any advice here? I gues I just have to embrace it and continue the meditation if I wish to evolve

Maybe before you enter deep meditation, try to visualize your aura solidifying into a crystal sphere or a pyramid, what ever feels right for you, ask the God/dess to protect you from all harm. Try burning sage around you for extra protection. Create a sacred space. You want to make sure that anything you think feels creepy stays at bay. Follow your instincts, ask them to leave kindly if you must. If you think they're entities then you're probably right. Just protect yourself, feel like you're protected, and go about your meditation.

I usually meditate in my room, because it's the quietest/safest place. Sometimes I meditate when I'm on the bus, or if I'm by the beach.....anywhere is good.

I used to meditate with a lot of visual imagery, lately i just close my eyes and my mind will stop moving in about 5 minutes. If i'm having a lot of trouble I'll focus on chakras to initiate focus.

I often do 20 mintues of relaxing yoga stretching to soothing music like enya etc to calm my mind/body down.

Thanks starlover.....I'll try that visualization exercise, I don't like the smell of sage though...perhaps something else? I think more than anything I'm afraid of my own psyche, as many of us probably are.

How about Sandalwood? Or maybe just plain old salt and water? Or you can just focus on the visualization and prayer? It's up to you.

Blueroamer, I think it's always important to use some type of protection and/or cleansing ritual when you practice going into alternate states of mind. I'm not trying to scare you, probably nothing will happen, but it's better safe than sorry since you seem to be very sensitive.

what do you do with the salt and water?? I sometimes have an elemental shrine when i meditate...inclues fire salt and water...haven't been using it recently.
I didn't used to be this sensitive when I meditated...have you had problems like these before starlover?

There are books on psychic protection...some are crap...some good...depends on what resonates with you. I visualized a blue egg-shaped shield around me consistently for quite some time...and a medium actually saw it...without me ever mentioning it. You really can build up a force field around yourself. Many people use some sort of shield method of protection. Vocalizations help to raise your vibration...whether chanting, mantra, affirmations, audible prayer, or singing.

No, I've just been well taught in the subject of protection. There are many different methods you can use. Visualization being the best choice in my opinion, and of course for me praying to god/dess.

I'm not totally experienced but I have effective techniques that I use.
The Aura is most important before meditation, it is our own egg shaped shield that has been proven to change form with thoughts alone.
So use your thoughts to create a protection bubble, filled with white light (the purest form of light)
Imagine yourself as a large cell, and your body is the nucleus.
Imagine white light pouring down on you from above, like unto a flowing water fall.
Feel your vibratory frequency increasing as your being filled with this pure white light.
Think of your mind as a dusty, dark old attic, and image opening windows of light inside, and the light flowing into your whole mind and body.
Then feel it flowing from your head to your toes, and then imagine it disolving any bit of darkness that is surrounding you.
While maintaining these thoughts of light, image your aura becoming enclosed in a sphere of one-way glass. On the inside you can see out clearly, but on the outside it is a mirror.
It will RELFECT any negative energies that try to penatrate your Aura.
The Positive energies will penetrate easily because you draw them into yourself in the form of white light.
And so, your Aura will be sealed.
You can do this daily, not only before meditation.

Have you guys ever found that you are able to alter other peoples moods simply by intention? Not necessarily by expresing a particular emotion at them, but just directing positivity/negativity..
