I was reading this book called 'The Vegetable Passion'... interesting literature. It gives you the history of vegetarianism . Not a complete version of course, but it has some info on famous vegetarians and things.
Did you know that Hitler was actually a vegetarian??!? I was a little surprised when I found out, I must admit! How sad that a man who didn;t consume animals for (supposedly) moral reasons had no qualms whatsoever about killing millions of people in ways much worse than any slaughterhouse animal could ever experience!

Anyway, I just thought I'd post real quick, because well, it shocked me a little!!

Veggie share time!!! =)

I read somewhere that Hitler was fanatical (imagine that!) about his body odor. Maybe that had something to do with his vegetarianism, because *morality* really seems....well....you know.

Talk about psycho--Dahmer and Ed Gein sure weren't veggie. Ew.

Well, Hitler was a big animal lover, so I think it was probably the moral thing.

I am vegetarian, and I did know that about Hitler. I agree, though, how can you be passionate about animals and murder so many people?! Actually, slaughterhouse animals *are* murdered in horrific ways.
Is Charles Manson dead? (because you said was) I thought he was still my neighbor with Scott 'n Co. over at San Quentin. (I actually live like 12 minutes from San Quentin)
Supposedly Jesus was vegetarian too. Lemme see if I can find a link.

aahhh vegetarianism, let me count the ways in which I love thee... you do make me less stinky for one thing, I think (haha I guess maybe I should ask other people about that one... )
Seriously though, I can't imagine living any other way. Brrr meat... nothing against people who eat meat, mind you. It's a personal thing about me- there is just this taste that meat has... I can taste it even if something has just been cooked in the same vessel that meat was cooked in. It's vile to me!! Maybe some of it could be psychological, but I can tell even if I haven't seen the food being prepared, and I can't bring myself to eat it cause it tastes bad to me. Strange!
Did you know, they say that gorillas in the wild will never eat meat, but in captivity, they will eat it if their keepers give it to them. Just something random, lol.

Hitler was just crazy. In that book I was reading, it said that it's not like he was a healthy vegetarian or anything! He loved to eat sweets!!! A lot, apparently!! Psychologists think maybe he didn't not eat meat because of moral reasons, but because he was responsible for killing his niece (who he may/may not have been in love with AND whose murder was never solved) and didn't eat meat as a way to atone for it. Or something to that extent. I personally think he was a mad, sad man.

nephthys- good link

Just curious, didn't Jesus eat fish? I mean, we can't know for sure or anything of course, but there was that thing where he created bread and fish for the multitudes, right?

I don't know if he ate fish? I know the reason he is symbolized by a Fish is because he represents the Piscean Age.
