Today I had my 1st driving lesson.
Naturally at first I was nervous but by the end I was comfortable with my ability to drive.
It wasn't as bad as I envisaged it to be.

Can't wait for my next lesson...voooommmm...

I'm learning to drive to, my first time was in a manual, I wasn't willing at first, but then I LOVED it!
Now I drive an auto in a Mazda3. It is awesome, I've been on 4-5 lessons now and I feel comfortable to go for my lisence soon.
What do you prefer to drive?

I'm learning how to drive too . I've had my permit for a year now, so I can get my liscence whenever I want to, but I've only had a couple of lessons- I plan on getting it this summer.

I've put it off for a while now, but I'd like to be able to get around independantly.
I feel like a pain asking for lifts all the time.

I have only driven a manual. Heard that an auto is easier than a manual, Is it true?

I want to get my drivers as soon as possible but I need more lessons so I can build up my confidence.

Oh yeah! An automatic is way easier than a stick shift. The automatic does all the work of shifting the gears. You, however, in learning on the standard, will know and, have the ability, to drive anything. Though every manual has a different ' feel', you will have the essentials down and, getting to 'know' the clutch, will come a lot easier for you. I learned on an automatic and, did not touch a standard until I had already been driving for a few years.... now, I prefer the standard over the auto.... gives me the control, especially with the newer vehicles...
All the Best to you, have fun.
