The reason we all pass out after turkey dinner is because the blood is rushing to ourstomachs to digest the sucker!

Well, I had smoked turkey for dinner last night, with NO ill effects whatsoever.

Probably you ate the wrong thing WITH the turkey.

...AND I had chickpeas earlier on that day. Again, no problem.

I find too much sugar, or fruit, OR vegetables (cabbage & onion families ) , OR monosodium glutamate, eaten all at one go, is usually the problem.

Moderation in everything!!!!!

BR you may have a turkey alergy and the deli variety is typically cured therefore killing the natural properties. Also you typically see the dark meat in ground turkey (higher fat) and breast meat in deli cuts. Just intuitive. Ihave nothing to back up my observation, but meat poofs stink worse (like what aphrodite said.. "atkins"= high fat protein. and when you add sugar like fruit or high sugar vegitables like corn or carrot or peas. so yes, ariestiger is right about food combining~

not like you asked for advice or anything..but gas is fascinating. i find chewing on cumin seeds works wonders for any gas in my stomach.

fartheewell!!

Oh my! A 'delicacy' out in my parts of these here States is 'turkey fritters', or turkey nuts that are breaded and fried. Another is 'mountain oysters', which are pig or bull nuts fried. Go ahead guys, I'll pass...I'll take a medium-rare sirloin instead. I just remember my Papa and I 'working' on the cows, and Papa would always have a bucket of water in which to throw the new 'oysters', because Grampa wanted them. I felt extremely sorry for the pigs or cows, but as a farmkid, you're taught not to think such things.

I eat ground turkey all the time. It's really great stuff. I'm not one to study my farting patterns, though, so I'm really no help.

One day when I was obviously out of my mind I made dinner for my now ex-husband. It consisted of: Pinto beans, cabbage, sweet potatoes, cornbread, and sliced onions and tomatoes.....what was I thinking????
I almost did not survive the night....finally had to go sleep on the couch....the, uh...aroma permeated the entire house....that particular menu was never served in our house again!!!
