Is anybody else out there as bad as me? People are always giving me crap about it. My guy friends all say women are supposed to be able to dance naturally, but no. Is there any hope for me?!?! I know I'm not the only one here.......

There are plenty of women who can't dance. You're definitely not alone there. Me, I'm a guy, and I can dance.

Are you musical?
Cultivate a sense of rhythm, be expressive, dress for the occasion (my husband hates pop music, and always wears tweed suits when we go out, plus won't take it seriously - so, ahem! he DOES tend to look a bit pratty). Enjoy it! Do things like aerobics to improve your coordination.

Maybe you feel silly dancing to certain music? Practise with music you like.

Most people can disco-dance but maybe consider taking dancing classes.

Just a few thoughts.

Isn't it intersting that in indigenous cultures not one person "can't dance"? Every single member of the tribe dances and sings without any judgement from others. Just a thought

Ooooh I love dancing, with all me heart - I can really let it go on the dance floor and even dance on my own some nights in the pub with no booze inside me ha ha!!!!

I agree with the comment about not worrying how you look - just do it girl - feel that ol music and let it go!!

Ooooh I cant wait to have a sing and a dance now, only trouble is I sometimes get some old fecking mad boy trying to join in with me - okay if theyre sober but when theyre loaded and falling all over ye - YUK!!

hey dorkus...

I can dance. I have friends that think they can dance, but can't.

I say... hell... at least you know you can't dance, and don't make any bones about it.

Dancing is just a form of creative expression. I'm sure you express your creativity in plenty of other ways.

I won't dance, don't ask me
I won't dance, don't ask me
I won't dance, Madame, with you
My heart won't let my feet do things that they should do

You know what?, you're lovely
You know what?, you're so lovely
And, oh, what you do to me
I'm like an ocean wave that's bumped on the shore
I feel so absolutely stumped on the floor

When you dance, you're charming and you're gentle
'specially when you do the Continental
But this feeling isn't purely mental
For, heaven rest us, I am not asbestos

And that's why
I won't dance, why should I?
I won't dance, how could I?
I won't dance, merci beaucoup
I know that music leads the way to romance,
So if I hold you in arms I won't dance

I won't dance, don't ask me,
I won't dance, don't ask me
I won't dance, Madame, with you
My heart won't let me feet do things that they want to do

You know what?, you're lovely,
Ring-a-ding-ding, you're lovely
And, oh, what you do to me
I'm like an ocean wave that's bumped on the shore
I feel so absolutely stumped on the floor

When you dance, you're charming and you're gentle

ack.
I normally dance up a storm, and love moving to the music.

I just got Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease, to have fun, get hard, and learn some new moves. I also got a Pilates one, and did that with greaT RESULTS.. I TEND TO LIKE WEIGHTS AND RESISTANCE BANDS, ETC... ( oops, capslock) My husband, I'm sure, wants to get hard too. *ahem*
So anyway.....
While I was learning the mooves.. therefore, watchihng carefully, My glasses would slip, and I couldn't see.
I needed to vent, it was soooooooo frustrating.. I am contorting, and stretching, whilst looking up, to see what happens next, and the stupid things wouldn't stay in place and I had to fix them each time.
aaaaaaaarggggggggh

*sorry, I needed to vent, and this is a dance thread, so thanks for listening.
I hate glasses.
Hate them.
Time for surgery.

Ugh, glasses, Pixie, I know the feeling. My glasses at school used to be 1/2" thick (no kidding) and bobbled up and down so much on my nose when I was doing sports that PE was impossible...in the 100m I used to have to take them off and people used to have to point me in the right direction...and when you take them off it's as though you've completely lost one of your senses...getting contact lenses at the age of 10 was a godsend!!

Persevere, though. They said a similar thing to me when I was about 16 and my eyes were perfectly OK once I had given them a "rest", so to speak, for a couple of months. (In fact, I think it was the opticians' trying to make a fast buck...we found out they were telling a lot of people the same thing...LOL)

I been working so hard
Keep punching my card
Eight hours, for what?
Oh, tell me what I got
I get this feeling
That time’s just holding me down
I’ll hit the ceiling
Or else I’ll tear up this town
Tonight I gotta cut
(chorus)
Loose, footloose
Kick off your sunday shoes
Please, louise
Pull me offa my knees
Jack, get back
C’mon before we crack
Lose your blues
Everybody cut footloose
You’re playing so cool
Obeying every rule
Dig way down in your heart
You’re yearning, burning for some
Somebody to tell you
That life ain’t passing you by
I’m trying to tell you
It will if you don’t even try
You can fly if you’d only cut
(chorus)
Loose, footloose
Kick off your sunday shoes
Oowhee, marie
Shake it, shake it for me
Whoa, milo
C’mon, c’mon let go
Lose your blues
Everybody cut footloose
First - we got to turn you around
Second - you put your feet on the ground
Third - now take a hold of your soul
Four - whooooooooa, I’m turning it
Loose, footloose
