I was out last night - great evening - live music outdoods, warm evening, perfect.

I met this woman - she was friendly, very womanly, large and confident and she is a dancer, so I got up on my own to dance and she joined me, and we had great craic and we really let it go, barefooted and completely lost in the music.

My question is and she asked the same.........why dont many men dance the way women do - ive only met a few that really can let it go and they are usually spanish, portugese etc.

If I could dance the way with men that I do with women...........oh yeah there is my answer, I am not meant to..........if you get my drift.......oh well in my next life maybe.......what do you girls and boys think???

Love to all

I think it has to do with our society' idea of how a man should be to be concidered a "real" man.

I LLOOOOOOOOOVE dancing!
Losing myself in the music. I usually get a small crowd, but if there is no one else, I am happy to just dance. Alone. It's true, only the occasional man... usually he is only goofing, then sits down, or will need a beer in his hand to be-bop. Unless it's a line dance, in which I usually sit down ( can't do it my way.. fixed signs all over my chart?)Line dances were invented for men I think.
I go out with my mom a lot, and she has taken me aside and asked me to tone it down, as too many people (men) were watching...;ie; losing myself in the music. I tell her let them watch, I want to dance.
No apologies here.
(An adult and she still tries to repress my energies)

I hate to say it, but non white boys are the best dancers It’s all about genetics and Biology - of course girls don’t follow this rule

Enjoy what you can Sue. Pity us poor guys, how often do you see, or would it be acceptable for two of us "real" men to dance with each other. One day we may have "Male liberation".

Hey I'm white, and I dance quite well...but I"m gay so thats the exception, I don't care about male and females expected gender roles. A lot of my straight male friends love to dance, but they're kind of an ecclectic bunch.

One of the funniest things is watching a tall nerdy white guy try to dance. To me, the ability to dance projects sexual prowess, and when someone is really bad it seems like they'd be bad in bed too. Ya know, RHYTHM

OMG The same words were said by my Scorp friend with Leo Asc few days back.
Just wondering but what if one is just too shy to dance on the dance floor and completely different in bed.Food for thought.

It is sad that our society...and others too...do not think men should dance or dear me...not with each other!
Utterly stupid!
Most of my in person friends are either gay men or straight men not ashamed of being in touch with feelings and dancing...blowing bubbles or being silly and so forth!
And they all dance!
PS. I am large...I am disabled...but on a good day..me and my cane cane cut a serious rug still!

PEOPLE who can dance are a big turn-on for me, regardless of gender and sexuality.
Keep on lifting me...

Artist: Lee Ann Womack Lyrics
Song: I Hope You Dance Lyrics

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they're worth taking
Lovin' might be a mistake
But it's worth making
Don't let some hell bent heart
Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out
Reconsider
Give the heavens above
More than just a passing glance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)

I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
Dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
I hope you dance
(Where those years have gone)

(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)

I love to dance...of course. I've even gotten to the point of being pretty comfortable on my own out there. I play music, and I'm sexy, so of course I have rhythm.

I've always been under the assumption that if someone were to make fun of me I'd merely copy their dance and show them how easy it is. That's what got me beyond my fear of dancing when I was young.

Now it's just fun for me. If there's dancing, chances are you'll find me on the floor at some point. I love being the one guy on the dance floor who knows how to dance. Girls/women seem to love it too. I've always had good experiences, so it's never been a big deal to me.

Yes, I've been hit on by gay men, BlueRoamer, lol. ...even in Tennessee.

Oh... I didn't say that there are a lot of American women who are seemingly apprehensive about a dancing guy. I can't believe the shyness, really. Thankfully, some woman always joins me eventually.

Dancing with women? Yeah maybe

Dancing with men...........DEFINATELY!!!!!!

Was out last night at a Glam Rock 70s Disco - such a brilliant night, few there, and mainly men, and OMG there were two or three that were absolutely wicked dancers........one guy, long hair, glitter on his face and hair, purple frilly shirt and cool flares.....and such a groovy dancer......I danced with him all night off and on....and dont laugh guys but this was my HUSBAND LOL !!!

I swear to God when he says he is going to play soccer that he has secretly been going for dancing lesson. He totally let it go on the floor, with no booze or smoke inside of him and he looked so gorgeous. I could have eaten him, he looked so yummy!!

We were headbanging together ha ha, felt like two teenagers, me 46 and him nearly 36, what a fab feeling.

The funny thing is.......we were the only ones wearing glitter, everyone else looked conservative in comparison.........but then again, we always did like to shock a little!

When we went outside for some air we noticed that amazin full moon in aqua........mmm interesting thought coming in.......he has Moon in Aqua.......maybe I should take him out more often to dance to celebrate the very thing which I came here to complain about?

Bloody women hey............ cant please em can ya??

Love to all

Hmmm… Not all Spanish men dance but when they do… It’s a big difference with other nationalities…

I’m not a good dancer but when I am lucky enough to get a partner who leads me… WOW!!! I absolutely love it!!! Dancing salsa, latin music or any Spanish music can make your blood set on fire… It’s electric… Especially when your bodies are a few inches apart… Vertical sex with clothes on…
