Blueroamer! Hey! I was going to post that!

No, actually I was rethinking it. It was received pretty nastily at another board I posted it on... People thought that a test that tells you that you are a free-thinker was ironic. I think they all just scored low.

I got a 94. I guess I'm cynical.

I got an 82 - Free Thinker. I am thinking about fact checking at least one of the items, though (mostly because I read about it specifically and got the wrong answer).

Hey... I got 94 too. I'm not cynical. I don't think you're cynical, Johnny. I think you're smart.

And it looks like there's evidence to the contrary of what I'd read. Interesting.

Nope, the milk one. It was Reader's Digest where I read the article, too.

I am pretty sure Vit E is Fat soluable, not water soluable like Vit C... so in that case.... I believe free thinking is a bit jaded.
So it can build up to toxic quantities in your system, whereas Vit C you just excrete what you don't need.

Free Thinker
Welcome to the top 5%. You're a true free thinker and a person who is well informed about the reality in which you live. Although you may have been easily manipulated earlier in life, you eventually gained lucidity and developed a healthy sense of skepticism that you now automatically apply to your observations and experiences. You are endlessly curious about human behavior and the nature of the universe, and you have one or more lifestyle habits that most people would consider odd or unusual. You are not only of very high intelligence, you are also extremely creative in one or more areas (music, art, software development, inventing, etc.)

If you were in The Matrix, you would have taken the red pill, completed the combat training, and started fighting (and beating) agents from day one.

Your architects: You have cast off reality distortions taught to you by your parents, schooling, corporate advertising and government propaganda. You create your own beliefs based on what serves you best, without much regard for what the rest of the crowd is doing. You are guided by your own internal code of ethics (which may or may not agree with politically-correct ethical codes) rather than any pre-set system of ethics (such as from any one religion).

...but some of that's not true.
I was taught by my parents to question, good ol' ex-hippies that they are

That wouldn't be a terribly difficult test to fool, though - just answer contrary to what you hear on the news

You know what sort of irks me, though?

People who think that you're a "correct" thinker only if you think as they do...

That's exactly what everyone told me on the board where I posted this, Proxieme! And then they slapped me! Well, not really, but they would have if they could have, I think!

Thanks, LibraSparkle! You're very good at flattery too, ya'know.

... but, the question is, "Do you believe to the contrary of what you hear on the news?"

Ok... be a cynic.

It seems to me that cynicism is skepticism to an unhealthy extreme.

But... maybe you just proved that wrong by acing the test?

cyn·i·cism ( P ) Pronunciation Key (sn-szm)
n.
An attitude of scornful or jaded negativity, especially a general distrust of the integrity or professed motives of others:

So you see, cynicism is simply a distrust. In my opinion, cynicism is a hallowed quality. Why? Because cynics are the watchdogs of society, their doubts make sure that people don't get away with wrongdoings. Also, a cynical attitude of doubt is necessary in the scientific community. To find the real truth, false truths must be doubted.

If we were all Britney Spears worshipping sheeps, nothing would ever get done. The rich woudl get richer, the poor would get poorer. This societ, now more than ever, demands cynics to doubt the media, doubt the lies fed to us every day, and sift through the garbage to find the truth and good in this world.
